Russia is trying to turn Kherson into a “city of death” as President Putin’s forces lay mines in buildings and sewers across the city, Kyiv said today.

Mykhailo Podolyak, a senior adviser to President Zelensky, said Russia hoped to stall the Ukrainian advance in the city, then shell it from the other side of the Dnipro river.

“RF [Russia] wants to turn Kherson into a ‘city of death’. The Russian military mines everything they can: apartments, sewers. Artillery on the left bank plans to turn the city into ruins,” Podolyak tweeted. “This is what [the] ‘Russian world’ looks like: came, robbed, celebrated, killed ‘witnesses’, left ruins and left.”

The warning came after Ukraine announced the capture of 12 villages and a key town as they

This is war we are talking about, Russia isn’t known for fighting and follow Geneva Convention rules to a Tee.

When the goal is to kill the enemy and destroy his ability to make war, it shouldn’t be a surprise this type of thing happens.

The Red Army did the same thing in Kyiv as the Wehrmacht came a calling.

The entire region is a region of death. It’s a continuation of the blood feud going back hundred of years. Tell the Ukes to negotiate. Do we really want a continent or world of death? We could have stopped meddling in the Middle East in 2004. That would have saved a million mostly innocent lives. We didn’t learn anything.

I hope they won't complain when they get 180,000 mini tungsten balls from M30A1 round sent by HIMARS.

Whatever is happening in Ukraine, to each side, it’s real war, people get killed and infrastructure will get destroyed.

It’s crazy that otherwise average people resort to killing each other to settle their differences.

Awful, but these mines will be carefully removed by the new ownership of Kherson City. The Ukrainians.

The best part is that Russia says they rule, due to the bullcrap referendums staged by Hapless Loser Vlad Putin.

Like that’s never happened in war before. Ukrainians had to clear their own mines so those grain shipments could happen.

I don't know how many Soviet mines they have in cold storage. Perhaps they have the chance to use them all. Media talked about shrinking inventory of their armored vehicles, shells, missiles etc. But now mines could be in the mix, too. Russia will be so peace-loving after this war. Not enough weapons to fight with, except WMD’s: nukes, chemical weapons, and biological weapons.

Russians claim that these people voted 99% to be a part of Russia and love Putin. They also say now they’re going to kill as much of them as they can to “de-nazify and de-satanize”.

Putinistas are enthusiastically showing their support for both of these claims.

Update on Russian military operations in and around Ukraine for November 11, 2022.

- Russia completes withdrawal from Kherson city to east bank of the Dnieper River;
- Ukraine has lost its last major opportunity to corner and destroy/capture large numbers of Russian forces/equipment;
- Russia continues stated process of de-militarizing Ukraine;
- US aid to Ukraine becomes increasingly unrealistic - Hawk missiles designed in the 1960s and unused for 2 decades are being "refurbished" for a lack of better options;
- "Avenger" systems to be sent in small numbers (4) which are essentially Stinger missiles attached to a Hummer - after training for Ukrainian operators is completed;
- Dwindling amounts of basic ammunition continue to be sent to Ukraine, prolonging the conflict, but not in quantities to even allow Ukraine to hold what it has;
- As Russian forces withdrew from Kherson city, they advanced elsewhere in southern and northern Donbass.
