Pro-abortion COVID tyrant Gretchen Whitmer reelected governor of Michigan

DETROIT (LifeSiteNews) — Leftist Gov. Gretchen Whitmer handily won reelection Tuesday in the state of Michigan with a resounding victory over her Trump-endorsed Republican challenger Tudor Dixon by a margin of 54-44%. She was joined in her win by Attorney General Dana Nessel and Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson, both of whom are pro-LGBT extremists.

“As we think about the historic nature of yesterday, we know that this is a moment where people have reaffirmed that focusing on the fundamentals, building a Michigan where every person can get ahead is what really matters right now more than ever,” Whitmer claimed at her victory rally in Detroit, MLive reports.

“Michigan’s future success rests not in elected officials or government, but all of us,” Dixon said in a statement. “It is incumbent upon all of us to help our children read, support law enforcement, and grow our economy. Thank you to our volunteers and supporters for working so hard to forge a better Michigan. We came up short, but we will never stop fighting for our families.”

Whitmer was believed to have been a vulnerable candidate given her poor handling of the COVID-19 outbreak. Not only did she instruct Michiganians to not gather with family during the holidays, she violated her own lockdown orders and temporarily banned citizens from buying basic household items like seeds and gardening supplies. She also deemed abortion to be an essential, “lifesaving” service so clinics could remain open while small businesses remained closed.

Whitmer’s defeat of Dixon, a businesswoman with no real political experience that was hand-picked by the wealthy DeVos family, raises many uncomfortable questions for Michigan Republicans. The heated primary race saw grassroots candidate Ryan Kelley surge to the top of the polls only to drop significantly after former President Donald Trump endorsed Dixon, a move that activists took as a slap in the face. At the party’s convention this summer, precinct delegates nominated MAGA candidates Matt DePerno and Kristina Karamo for Attorney General and Secretary of State, respectively. Their loses to Nessel and Benson may cause establishment Republicans to come down hard on Trump supporters in 2024.

Appearing on the Michigan ballot alongside the governor’s race were three proposals, one of which sought to enshrine abortion into the state’s constitution. The measure passed 57-43%, overturning a 1931 law. Democrats attacked Dixon’s pro-life stance during the general election with multiple TV ads.

The victory for Whitmer, Nessel, and Benson means Michigan will continue to be led by a trio of woke liberal Democrats. In 2019, Nessel demanded that faith-based adoption and foster care agencies provide services to homosexual couples. A lawsuit from the Alliance Defending Freedom ultimately prevented that from happening. In 2022, Nessel, who is a lesbian, said that drag queens “make everything better” and that there should be a drag queen “for every school.”

The Harvard-educated Benson is a former board member at the far-left Southern Poverty Law Center, an organization which seeks to censor Christians and pro-life, conservative Americans. Benson was reportedly groomed for her role as secretary of state by a progressive political action group funded by financial speculator George Soros.

Tudor Dixon is too smart and too nice. She needs to move to a red state and run for office where she’d be appreciated.

“I didn’t know Michigan was so into sado-masochism…”

I was thinking the same thing. They must really like pain.

I have been a consistent opponent of abortion every year in this forum but I think we have to recognize some disquieting realities.

Every year we commit millions of abortions creating millions of couples in need of rationalization if not absolution for the heinous act of killing babies. The Democrat party wins new converts every year by offering these people absolution. Every year abortion is portrayed more and more as a positive virtue.

Human nature is not to be denied. Tens of millions of Americans are not psychologically or spiritually capable of declaring abortion illegal because by doing so is to indict themselves of a heinous act. Every year, therefore, the cause of life faces a steeper climb.

There is no practical justification for abortion in the age of the pill, contraceptives and ready adoption alternatives. But abortion serves one very important purpose and it was described by the late unlamented Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg who declared abortion was necessary for a woman's social and economic well-being. In other words, abortion is necessary to get women dates and jobs.

A more sinister reality exists. Abortion is the alternative to women who intentionally get pregnant as a means to getting to the altar. If the gambit fails, they resort to abortion and move on to the next opportunity.

Hard as this accusation is, it is a reality of our new social system.

It was proposal 3 that drove the dems to victory. I know that this offends some people’s sensibilities around here but it’s the truth. There was little if any enthusiasm for Whitmer, then the ill-timed Dobbs decision came down and prop 3 was born. Now Michigan is worse off the the dems controlling everything.

I appreciate your clarity. But be sure of this, the next election cycle there will be Republicans running on an anti-abortion platform and will lose. It's an ugly reality that our society is so far down the drain, but it is. Perhaps instead of just being pro-life conservatives we should be more along the lines of pro reproduction and encourage young conservative women to have more children and let the liberals abort their offspring thereby reducing their numbers.

Just proves poll watchers. Election monitors and lawyers aplenty have absolutely no effect on election fraud. As long as election administration and counting are partisan there will be massive cheating. Where else but a US election would the same cheating methods be used over and over.. Pretty soon no one will vote.

Many people are just sick about Whitmer being reelected. Her lockdowns were capricious. And she is a liar that people were not forced on nursing homes. They were, and they died.

I disagree.
fourdoor dixon had trouble putting together a coherent thought.
Her staff did not communicate very well with the public at all.
All we know about her is her stance on abortion.
She was not the best candidate out there, yet somehow she got the nomination?

... way more likely the massive cheating/stealing of votes in Detroit! Worked in 2020, rinse and repeat. Look at the totals jump when they bring in the crooked ballot dumps... ymmv

GMTA -—I can’t believe how many of your stand-alone statements I have been making for years. For example, not too long after Roe V.Wade came to be , I said the pro-aborts seem to be making it exactly what you called it , “a positive value”——(only much later did some take up the Bill Clinton trope that it should be legal but “rare”....huh, fat chance of that. But the best observation above all, is HOW, in an age when so much is available to make abortion virtually non-existent, we still had surging numbers when they should have been dropping precipitously——and the supreme irony of Roe V. Wade becoming “settled law” in the same timeline as the explosion of “the Pill”and its mass availability-— I have brought this up at family gatherings with knee jerk Liberal in-laws, and these college professors just look at me dumbly (I suppose that’s a benefit of living the “life of the mind” in Academia all their adult lives.))

I said early on that the entire visual aspect of Gretchen Whitmer suggested a kind of comical Dominatrix from the world of Porn. Short black leather jackets,rigidly-coiffed hair, bright red lipstick, etc.
