Putin's troops FLEE Kherson as Kremlin orders humiliating withdrawal across the Dnipro river - abandoning the ONLY local capital still held after their disastrous invasion

Putin - always on hand to cheer Russia's 'victories' - was nowhere to be seen.

Putin's top military commander said troops will retreat from Kherson on orders from Russian Defence Minister Troops will leave 'in the near future' and take up positions across Dnipro River, General Sergei Surovikin said

Giving up the city - capital of a region Putin annexed to Russia just weeks ago - is the most humiliating loss yet General Surovikin said city was impossible to defend as Ukraine's armed forces continue to counterattack

This is the moment Russia's top commander was ordered to withdraw from Kherson, after admitting the city is impossible to defend in face of Ukrainian advances.

General Sergei Surovikin was hauled on to state TV alongside Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu who ordered him to pull his men back across the Dnipro River and surrender Kherson to the Ukrainians in a heavily stage-managed affair.

Surovikin gave a report in which he said his troops are in danger and civilians are being killed, before recommending a retreat. Shoigu agreed, to which the squirming general replied: 'Yes sir. The troop manoeuvres will be made as soon as possible.'

Witnesses say Russian men have already abandoned key checkpoints around Kherson and have destroyed bridges in an apparent effort to stop Ukrainian soldiers pursuing and capturing them.

Giving up Kerson - the capital of a region Putin annexed to Russia just weeks ago, his only toe-hold west of the Dnipro River, and a key checkpoint on the road to Crimea - is the most-humiliating loss his military has yet suffered.

Well what is unclear is what Pfizer has anything to do with the Russian government announcement of retreat.

Russia’s Ministry of Defense has announced the withdrawal of Russian forces from Kherson city to the east bank of the Dnieper River.

This was alluded to 3 weeks ago by General Sergey Surovikin and for the purpose of weathering Ukraine’s all-or-nothing offensive while preserving Russian manpower and equipment.

While Russian forces have successfully defended the city until now, even the slightest possibility of Ukrainian forces overwhelming Russian troops on the wrong side of the river would result in a defeat of historic proportions. Russia has now eliminated that possibility.

Meanwhile, Russian forces continue dismantling Ukraine’s national power grid, its air defense network, and what remains of its overstretched forces.

Ukraine fights for today’s headlines, Russia is fighting to win the long war.

Putin says it’s not a war.

Source of quotation, below:

https://www.thedrive.com/the-war-zone/russian-proclaims-its-retreat-from-kherson-city

“Two of Putin’s biggest backers endorsed the move to evacuate Kherson City, lauding Surovikin in the process.

‘After weighing all the pros and cons, Surovikin made a difficult but right choice between senseless sacrifices for the sake of high-profile statements and saving the priceless lives of soldiers,’ Ramzan Kadyrov, head of the Chechen Republic, wrote on his Telegram channel, according to TASS. “So there is no need to talk about the ‘surrender’ of Kherson. They ‘surrender’ together with the fighters. And Surovikin protects the soldier and occupies a more advantageous strategic position - convenient, safe.’

The withdrawal decision is not easy, but it indicates the readiness of the command to take responsibility for the lives of soldiers, Yevgeny Prigozhin, founder of the Wagner group mercenary organization, told RIA Novosti, according to its Telegram channel.”

Russia is fighting to win the long war.

But Comrade Kazan, you said that it would be a short "Special Military Operation," repeatedly, beginning on February 24.

Just shut up and stop hijacking the thread. No Russian or any other source denies that the Russians are retreating from Kherson. Only you are doing that, because you’re dumb. So stop it.

Leaves Russia in charge of the water supply canal the idiot Ukes dammed up a few years back. Now Crimea has a great supply of water. And the Ukes can only attack by amphibious crossing the Dnieper.

It’s a permanent position now. And it also controls Uke shipping wanting to exit the river if the Ukes start acting like Richard heads more.
