Brian Kemp Is Better at Politics Than You Are. The Georgia governor’s resounding victory over Stacey Abrams — and Donald Trump — confirms his political savvy.

Brian Kemp is a winner. Though his margin of victory was large, his win was not inevitable.

Donald Trump made it a mission to defeat Kemp after he refused to play along with Trump’s stolen-election nonsense in 2020. He endorsed David Perdue, the former Georgia senator, in the Republican primary.

Going up against the former president, who remains the most prominent personality in the Republican Party, was no small task. But Kemp approached his reelection campaign intentionally and with considerable skill.

First step: Defeat Perdue. Already a known quantity statewide, Perdue could have defeated Kemp. Many other Republicans who faced the threat of running against a Trump-endorsed candidate in the primaries essentially conceded the race before it began or retired from politics altogether.

Not Kemp.

He was the incumbent governor. He had defeated Stacey Abrams in a close race in 2018 after being baselessly accused of “voter suppression” by the entire left wing of the country. He had assembled a solid conservative record. He cut taxes and oversaw extraordinary job growth (the state’s unemployment rate is below 3 percent). He signed a law banning abortion after a heartbeat is detected. He expanded school choice for Georgia K–12 students.

He stood up to the entire national media on Covid policy. When other governors were locking down and contemplating Covid passports, he was the first to let businesses and churches reopen and pushed to reopen schools. The Atlantic hyperventilated about “Georgia’s experiment in human sacrifice.” Georgia’s Covid death rate is middle-of-the-pack, nearly identical to New York and lower than New Jersey and Michigan, whose Democratic governors were objects of adoration for Kemp’s critics.

He stood up to the entire national media, corporate America, and the Democratic Party on Georgia’s voting law. “Easy to vote and hard to cheat” was his line

Oh, piss off. 2020 was corrupt.

I repeat, any election that allows any version of mailin or ballot harvesting cannot be honest. I’ve registered once out here in CaCaLand, >35 years ago. But, since mailin is mandated out here, I got two ballots.

How many other “errors” do you think occurred?

No, he’s better at falling in line with the Republican establishment. The vote will be rigged against any Republican that has a chance of making real change.

You’re crazy any Republican candidate that will go against Deep State and the GOP establishment will ever be allowed to have a chance of winning again.

On election coverage last night, one of the Real America’s Voice people reported that on FRIDAY morning Stacy had called Kemp and conceded. That explains why her staff was seen getting on planes on Friday and getting out of Dodge.

WHY didn’t Kemp or Abrams announce that? I suppose it could be considered election manipulation or something.

Interesting. I'd love a good citation in print, but I doubt one can be found.

“I’d love a good citation in print”

I didn’t see it in print, but heard it from a reporter on site at the Kemp HQ. It was so shocking, that Bannon did his, “ho... ho... ho... you’re burying the lead” thing, and had her repeat it. Which she did.

"By the way, did anyone else find it curious that Stacey Abrams was uncharacteristically gracious towards Kemp in her prompt concession speech last night?"

She earned her protection money. The Dims paid her off to shut up about a stolen election so that they can make "election deniers" a rally cry against Republicans. It's the new bad word like fascists or Nazis.

If Kemp is so great, why couldn’t he help put Walker over the top?

Trump was foolish to make an enemy he didn’t have to. Kemp was correct in opening the state of Georgia during the fake plague,Trump shoots his mouth off too much and it hurts him.

I’ve lived in GA over 30 years. Kemp’s been a good Governor.

He’s pro-life, pro-second amendment, pro-police, anti-lockdown, anti-mask mandates, he kept GA open during Covid (and got called a murder by libs for keeping GA open). The economy has been good even through Covid.

From what I’ve seen, every single Republican won in GA in the statewide races, except Walker who is in a runoff.

But go ahead, let’s all form a circular firing squad.

I have 100% given up on resurrecting the United States as a whole. That dodo bird is dead, and she ain’t flying again. Even with no other outside push, (and many are lined up), she’s going down when the petrodollar dies.

The rest of the world is unassing the doomed petrodollar ASAP. For example, in a world-record feat of anti-diplomacy, the US State Dept. has made both Iran and Saudis seek BRICs membership, enemies allied in their desire to dump their petrodollar dependence.

The only “less bad” solution is for conservatives to move en-masse to red states, and make them deeper red, leaving blue states bluer, full only of welfare parasites.

Then the red states have to prepare to ride out the total collapse of the feral US govt, and try to rebuild fresh on the other side, as states, and not as vassals of Washington DC.

Clearly, one thing that has to happen, if and when elections again become possible and seen as beneficial, is that the insane idea of universal suffrage has to be scrapped. Voting will have to go back to only those with skin in the game: land owners, net taxpayers, military combat veterans (not LaQuisha from supply), etc.

History will look back at 21st Century America’s experiment with universal suffrage as sheer insanity. What did we expect when we: 1. Encouraged welfare parasites to breed like rats, in order to 2. harvest their votes on urban welfare plantations, 3. by promising and delivery more and more welfare, paid for from thin-air funny money?

Not one person died because another person “didn’t want to mask up.” Wearing masks was nonsense from the beginning, and was nothing but a security blanket for politicians to claim they were “doing something.”

Asking a popular governor to push a very iffy celeb candidate over the finish line, yeah, if the GOP runs even a half way decent candidate without the baggage of Walker, there’s no runoff probably. Who is gonna want to lend their political capital to help Walker during a runoff as well? Canidates do matter.

Yuri Bezmenov called it forty years ago where we were headed as a society. It's going to some rough sledding before (if) it gets better.

The RAV chick who reported that at Kemp HQ last night was Carolyn Ryan. Haven’t seen it in print, though.

Sure it is. He arranged for Dominion to come to Colorado and support their elections years ago. He's got special code in the machines with his name in it. Ballot goes in, comes out with his name on it. EZ PZ.

an interesting piece from last April arguing that the petrodollar is a phantom, while the eurodollar has been very real for a very long time, and that it is a factor in our inflation problem
