NEWTOWN, Penn. — John Fetterman, the state lieutenant governor, has won Pennsylvania’s high-voltage race for an open Senate seat, defeating celebrity TV doctor Mehmet Oz, bringing an end to one of the nastiest and most expensive campaigns of the year as both parties treated it as a potential tipping point for control of the chamber.
Fetterman will succeed Sen. Pat Toomey, a Republican who opted against seeking re-election.

I am so sorry for the loss of your wife. As I get older I think a lot about the things I’ve done wrong and the losses of those I’ve loved in my life. It is hard to lose your country, but much harder to lose who you have walked with through this journey.
I’m pretty sure those damned leftists are going to make us feel pretty bad as we can see clearly that there will be no change to our current trajectory. Tomorrow is going to be the same as the past 18 months of the Biden Regime. And the next two years…and most likely the foreseeable future beyond that. The American people have pretty much said they’re fine with this government and it’s policies. So we are going to get much much more of what they voted for tonight.
It’s time to look to our small lives and to God, and to do our best to navigate the very trying days ahead.

I have to try to narrow my interest in looking at every bit of political news (but as Pat Buchanan’s sister Bay once said “My brain filters everything through politics.” Me, too).
Ralph Waldo Emerson was right “You become what you think about all day long.” And what we think about expands. Misery and decline of the USA are not good topics when we can’t really do much about them.
Better off studying the Bible and praying than getting incensed over the whims of the misguided American voters.

I’ve been spending more time in The Word as well, Psalm 14 today…which I almost am floored by given the events today. That one hits me like a prophecy now.
There are a lot of women who are pro-abortion who WILL NOT vote for someone who they think will restrict abortion. A lot of young women will have that as their primary issue, ahead of the economy, especially if Daddy is there to help her out with the bills.
Sorry, that ONE ISSUE drove the PA race. The Supreme Court gave the right to decide to the states, and we are seeing the results.
