Putin’s foes meet to plot his ‘elimination’ as Russian corpses pile up in Donetsk

Anti-Russia activists and former Russian politicians have reportedly been meeting in Poland to discuss options for removing President Vladimir Putin from power — including by “physically eliminating” him.

The group of Putin foes has mulled various regime change scenarios, among them unleashing a civil war in Russia, taking up arms and killing Putin, the European media network Euractiv reported.

“The main goal is to physically eliminate Putin,” opposition activist Viacheslav Maltsev said.

Maltsev, who fled Russia in 2017 after being labeled an extremist by the state, noted that a civil war in Russia would not be “as bloody as the war in Ukraine.”

Another former Russian politician who was not named was quoted as saying that “the fight against terrorists requires terrorist methods.”

We’re not going to like anybody the Russian oligarchs pick to replace Putin, that much is certain. Russia is a country that pursues it’s own self-interest ruthlessly. Tsar, First Secretary, it doesn’t matter.

we may hate even more whoever they replace him with

so no assassination attempts should have been made on Hitler, since "whoever replaced him could have been worse" ?

They’d have to drag the Battleship Potemkin a bit closer to Moscow to get in-range.

So you come out of quasi-retirement to defend Comrade Putin?

SMH.

BTW, how's Duncan Hunter doing?

Sorry you misunderstood the reference. Said battleship has nothing to do with it, just an historic artifact.

I’d take it with a grain of salt, a large grain, because of the source ... CIA propaganda via the NY Post.

I do believe Hitler and whoever would have replaced him did not missiles that could destroy our major cities within minutes from launch.

I do not believe in the Hillary Clinton policy of “We came, we saw, he died” policy.

If Putin is removed, it’s not going to be by a bunch of guys meeting in Poland.

“But if Putin is removed from power we may hate even more whoever they replace him with.”

Not necessarily, they could always put someone like a Gorbachev or Yeltsin in.

What forces still inside Russia do these folks represent? The guy in prison Novalny, the Chechen dictator, The head of Wagner, etc?

Regarding the Russian nuclear threat, I think it is significant that the large nuclear sub that was parked at Gibralter for a time is now moving toward the Black Sea. Even in Gibralter it had some nuclear weapons able to reach Moscow. It may be related that Turkey may be blocking Russian war vessels from leaving the Black Sea.
