Texas congressional candidate Wesley Hunt (R) believes the economy and inflation will lead to a “big red wave, particularly when it comes to Black and Brown people” this midterm season.
Speaking to NBC’s Zinhle Essamuah on Sunday, Hunt said Black excellence is needed everywhere and that Black Republicans can bring change to the Black community.
“At least we’re in the room to at least add some color, if you will,” said Hunt, who is favored to win his race in a new Texas district.
A record 178 Black candidates are running this year as Republicans. Though Black voters make up a large voting bloc for Democrats, Republicans in recent years have been expanding their messaging to communities of color.

The 20% of socialists have managed to trick blacks for decades and in the process pushed their socialist agenda on everyone with black support.
Most repubs are thrilled we have more and more diversity in candidates and folks articulating the conservative message, with fire and passion, recognizing we are in a fight.
I don’t doubt that after Obama wasted eight years only to endorse Biden and more failed policies, MLK and other influential minority leaders would be MAGA supporters today.

We have black female pro-life conservative Jennifer-Ruth Green running in IN-1, which has been a safe Democrat seat for ninety years. RCP lists the race as a toss-up, and this is the first time in my memory that the GOP has run a competitive race. I am guessing that might reflect some considerable black support.

A conservative candidate (who happens to be black) is running for Congress in my district. But, she's not the Republican candidate. She's running as an Independent. She is an example that black voters can be very conservative. Will she win? No. Most likely, the Republican candidate won't win, either. The Dem will win again.
