Democratic consultant and political commentator James Carville said Tuesday on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” that Democrats needed to improve their messaging for the 2024 presidential election.
Co-host Joe Scarborough asked, “So, James, we don’t know what’s going to happen today. I’m already hearing reports Democrats are feeling pretty good in some places. We’ve got a Republican Senate candidate who’s supposed to win easily. I’m hearing he’s very concerned, especially in the suburbs, that they may be breaking against Republicans. We don’t know who’s going to win. That said, looking ahead to 24, what can Democrats learn, regardless of outcome, about how they ran their campaigns in 22?”
Carville said, “The one thing that drives me nuts is that more people are going to vote today that think that if the Democrats have power, they will defund the police, which is demonstrably not true, than people who are voting today that think that if the Republicans get control of Congress, they’ll shut the government down to focus cuts on Social Security and Medicare, which is demonstrably true. So I would criticize Democratic messaging and the media for letting people go to the polls with a massive misunderstanding of what the consequences of their votes are. I think that regardless of what happens tonight, we have to focus more on the 2024 cycle.”

Actions speak louder than words. Good luck with that
Bigger lies, James? Everything that comes out of a Democrat’s mouth is a big, fat lie.
The latest fiasco with Paul Pelosi and the blatant lies and covering up is a great example of Democrat “messaging.”
When it comes to politicians ignore what they say and watch what they do. Messaging is meaningless to me. Let me see your track record.
People know that the Dems caused all this chaos and will hold them accountable...................
Liberals want to castrate your 10 year old boys in the trans safe haven of California.
How the hell do you improve that message?
Liberals want to release all the criminals that prey upon you, so they can prey upon you again and again and again.
How the hell do you improve that message?
Liberals want to tell you are you non-essential, and that you should have no say in how your kids are educated.
How the hell do you improve that message?
Liberals want men pretending to be women to flood into women sports and bathrooms.
How the hell do you improve that message?
The resemblance is incredible!
Lol! I remember one midterm (think was 2004) when Carville predicted democrats would have a great night and Republicans actual ended up gaining seats. The camera panned toward Carville and he had a trashcan on his head. He might be a democrat scumbag, but at least he admits when he was wrong.
Never about the crappy results of their laws, policies, or governance. Its about the “messaging”. So open borders, defund the police, outlandish spending, cancel culture, destroying fuel and energy, etc., is not the problem, its the “messaging”. Been hearing it for 20 years.
Exactly.. Fought like a Marine (which he was): attack, attack, attack. Damned good strategist, hard, nasty fighter, regardless of what I think of his policies; lots of the Left hates him, too, because he sees what it takes to *win* rather than what makes snowflakes feel good.
Carville smash that egg on your forehead again you dummy.
The office knight of Rubbermaid, James Carville. He’s not a bad guy as far as democrats can be good......He’s loyal to persons he sees as his friends. He’s got a sense of humor. He’s intelligent. He’s not afraid to show his flaws.
It’s never the performance, it’s always the “talking”.
In other words…”lie better”
They also believe socialism works, it just hasn’t been implemented correctly.
What’s going on with his wife? I haven’t heard anything about her in a very long time.
Basically, James is saying we need to improve on our lying.
I maybe showing my age, but I remember when Car Ville was a used car lot on US Route 1 (aka the Boston Post Road) in Milford CT.
More like their policies need to improve for the sake of the country.
