Because they don't start counting the mail-in votes until 7:00pm when the polls close. They have to finish those before moving onto the election-day votes.

They have to open the envelopes, check for dates and signatures, verify the signature, and then approve the ballot. That takes time.

It’s not but Walker is badly damaged by the unchallenged and unending ads painting him as a frequent liar and a violent husband and father.

Kemp has political ambitions. That was the subtext of his closing victory statement. He was already on the ballot and Walker benefited from Kemp’s GOTV ground game. I tell you Republicans will sit on their hands in the run off.

Trump needs to stay away and I doubt DeSantis will test the waters of potential political capitol wasted on Walker. I was hoping to avoid a runoff but it’s our only shot at stopping Warnock and continuing Dem control of the Senate.

One freeper even remarked DeSantis seemed sanctimonious in his victory speech.

I'm not sure who that was, but he was probably riffing on Trump's "Ron DeSanctimonious" comment at a rally the other day. I doubt it was intended as an honest review of the speech.

“ Now is he up to run in 2024, because if it isn’t DeSantis, there’s not much else the GOP has to offer, unless it’s Trump. ”

I’m going to be very unpopular saying this…yes, Trump will get crushed in 2024. So will DeSantis (yes, you heard that right). Even Heels Up would beat either of them…easily, without even breaking a sweat.

That’s what tonight showed us. Republicans will be limited to dominating 15-18 states and get creamed everywhere else. Probably even Texas is becoming in danger as people flee California and New York…but still vote Democrat.

No Republican is going to win in 2024…literally any Democrat will beat them handily…even Kamala. That’s what we learned tonight…in most of the country they can’t be competitive against the Marxists.

Apparently, Walker isn't that "badly damaged" if he's within 30,000 votes of Warnock.

The race has been reset. People now know the score and what they need to do differently this time.

I don't think Republicans will sit it out this time they way they did in 2020. I believe that too many people believed that President Trump had the race won and that their vote didn't matter.

Joe Biden is a known quantity now -- he was a "hope for change" in 2020. If the people of Georgia want to stop Biden from doing any more damage, if they want to take away Kamala Harris' only power, they will know that electing Walker to the Senate is their only hope left.

And they will know that the nation is watching them.

In 2024, we will be 35 Electoral Votes from the Presidency. Bank TX, FL, NC, and OH.

We’ll see. AZ only had 35% turn out.

With 84% reporting, Dems lead substantially except for State Treasurer. Maybe Lake can make a come back in the remaining 16% outstanding. I had hoped she could be a rising star.

From M.B. Dougherty at NR:

“The Republican Party is in very very bad shape if it cannot defeat John Fetterman.

Fetterman is obviously debilitated by a stroke, and his campaign wasn’t straight about his condition.

When he was in full possession of his faculties, he supported de-incarceration of violent criminals, and the approach of Philadelphia’s progressive DA, Larry Krasner.

A party that cannot beat him in a state like Pennsylvania is dysfunctional in a deeply distressing way.”

I think the problem is Pennsylvania more than anything. Oz maybe wasn’t the right candidate. Pennsylvania is probably a lost cause.

These people can be hurt a lot more in the next two years than they were in the last two years.

Wait until the recession hits hard next year, the stock market tanks, there is no "soft landing" on inflation, and a real depression sets in.

Wait until China becomes aggressive, supply lines are disrupted by an Asia-Pac war, and we begin to experience real shortages on the shelves of the grocery stores.

The "red states" have all the ranches, farms, oil, and coal. What do the "blue states" have? The next two years can go very badly for some people if we're not careful.

Kari Lake has almost 40,000 fewer votes than the Democrat who is losing for State Treasurer.

You speak the facts.
Dumbass electorate mixed with voter fraud.
USA needs to dissolve, it’s only way this all ends.
Otherwise all of us here will be gulag’d or worse.
The Framers started a war for independence over less shit then we have seen in the past 4 years.

I'd say when they appointed a Tranny to be Health Secretary Pennsylvania was a lost cause.

The New York Times site shows the AZ governor's race only has 52% of the vote reporting, not 84%. It's Hobbs 55.2% Lake 44.8%. The difference is about 150,000 votes.

Maricopa County (Phoenix) has 51% of the votes in, with Hobbs getting 58% of that.

Pima County (Tucson) has 46% of the votes in, with Hobbs getting 64% of that.

It's going to come down to how the other 50% in Phoenix and Tucson who turned out today voted.

Republicans split the vote in Alaska so it appears the Dem will go to congress despite the majority choosing a Republican candidate.

Ranked choice voting must be stopped. Everywhere.

PA is such an odd state. Very conservative in western part. Open Carry allowed. Laws against preemption. All in all a very pro 2nd Amendment state.

But they really prefer moderate politicians of either party. With the exception of Futterman - he is a left wing Democrat and has serious medical issues. Yet he still won.

Talked to a friend from PA earlier tonight. She was just embarrassed at Futterman leading at the time.

You can never under any circumstances get those 35…that’s what tonight showed us. it can’t be done. The states are rigid - the only swing states are those the Marxists are slowly taking from the Republicans. There are none going the other direction. Trump won’t get those 35. Neither would DeSantis. Any Democrat - even Fetterman after another stroke - would get them.

The ballot box is no longer possible.
