Diesels are designed for the highway....cruise control at 70mph for 150...300...500 miles. They're not great in the city or the suburbs. I drive them because 95% of the miles I drive are at 70mph.

And until a year ago or so diesel was around the same price as Regular in summer and Premium in winter. But The Big Guy and his Maoist pals have turned everything upside down.

You really don’t understand how the business works. Especially produce. I delivered many many loads of Ca oranges to warehouses in Florida. Where they were unloaded and relabelled as “Oranges from Florida” and then sent up the east coast. Because they could get a few more cents a pound for Florida oranges than they could for Ca oranges on that end of the country. Stupid consumers wanted Florida oranges because they were closer and “just had to be fresher than Ca oranges”...

So that load of “Florida oranges” from Ca took three fill ups to get to NY. And it is the same with most produce including Apples. So your $1000 in fuel is actually $3000 worth of fuel.

Carriage Hill :" At $9+/gal, the truckers will park their rigs, because they are losing money to run.
The stores will empty. Be prepared for it."

Exactly true !
I suspect that at $6.00 per gallon for diesel, there will be fewer trucks on the road, fewer trains at distribution centers, and urban mass transit may stop altogether.
When you take the capitalism ($$) incentive out of Capitalism, you get = nada/ nothing, ..and no re-supply.
The stores will be, and then will remain empty.
Remember, this fuel and energy shortage is all man-made !
Lets go Brandon !

You stipulated that a 50 cent apiece apple would now cost $10.00 is beyond stupid, it is bordeline retarded. if fuel costs were to double then apple costs don't go up 20x. Get it?.

No it’s not. Because they will be rarer than hen’s teeth like a Babe Ruth baseball card. If you can even find one it will be well over $10 as a rare product.

I once had to pay $10 for one cup of coffee because of similar circumstances with availability. When a cup of coffee was normally .25 cents.

You are not factoring in all the variables. Lack of availability because of fuel prices is the huge variable.

They are building a bridge to the 1800’s 1600s, before America existed.

Yes, they will. It’s coming and people need to accept it.

You don’t understand anything about supply and demand.
