National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan has held undisclosed talks with top Russian officials in hopes of reducing the risk the war in Ukraine spills over or escalates into a nuclear conflict, the Wall Street Journal reported on Sunday.
The newspaper cited U.S. and allied officials as saying that Sullivan, President Joe Biden's top aide on national security, held confidential conversations in recent months with Kremlin aide Yuri Ushakov and Russian Security Council secretary Nikolai Patrushev, Sullivan's counterpart, that were not disclosed publicly.
The White House declined to comment on the report, responding to questions about the story only with a statement attributed to National Security Council spokesperson Adrienne Watson: "People claim a lot of things."

Don’t underestimate the value of those talks. Sensible Russians needed support and the influence with their peers that such talks give. Putin is a desperate man. It has been reported that the Russian military refused his orders to activate tactical nuclear weapons which would have been immediately detected by the West. In a crazy world , sensible people have to help each other.
More like giving them targeting information.

These calls weren't talks or negotiations, they were a setup for Narrative Propaganda and Disinformation in the Media.
Or Jake the Snake was telling the Russians essentially, ‘Hey we know and see that you are getting ready to ‘escalate’ things by dropping the hammer on the Ukrainians; therefore, if you do, we, the US/NATO will escalate ourselves.

Actually, this is a pretty good thing. The Ukraine narrative is essential to the Dem Party and Biden, who have handed over literally billions of our dollars to the corrupt, Biden-owned authoritarian Ukraine (where Zelensky recently banned any parties other than his own).
So there must be somebody rational in Biden’s government who doesn’t want us all to get blown up to protect Joe and Hunter Biden.
