Around 4.5 million people are without electricity, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said in his nightly video address to the nation on Sunday.

He called on Ukrainians to endure the hardships and said: 'We must get through this winter and be even stronger in the spring than now.'

Russia has focused on striking Ukraine's energy infrastructure over the last month, causing power cuts and rolling outages across the country.

I doubt Europeans and Americans will give a damn when they have no heat and power too. Start negotiating Zelensky.

So you would surrender to an invading enemy if they knocked out your heat and electricity? Okay

I’m hearing we are sending Ukraine long range missiles.

We probably wouldn’t approve bombing civilian infrastructure in Russia in retaliation for Russia bombing civilian infrastructure in Ukraine.

But it would be a revenge dish served cold if they knocked out electricty for Moscow and St. Petersburg just as a cold wave hit.

"I doubt Europeans and Americans will give a damn when they have no heat and power too."

Stoned, free traitor libertarians/anarchists obviously won't. They'll be hiding after helping those who launch nukes on us.

Maybe its time to go all “Lets Make a Deal” Its not just a little unpleasantness—its people going to freeze to death. Wait till we have that here in the USA and EU. Heck we would give in if we lost the internet for a month.

Just after the start of the war they interviewed a woman on the street in Kiev who was astounded that Putin attacked her country. Her statement was "but we have Tesla!".

That's precisely why he was able to attack. Europe sent Putin 60 million euros in the first 100 days of the war so Europe could charge their Teslas and feel smug about their carbon footprint. But as it turns out, that's not important.

Was the US “war crimnals” when they attacked and took out energy infrastructure?

Was NATO “war criminals” when they attacked and took out energy infrastructure?

Let us all know, as it directly concerns your “war criminals” rhetoric, kthx.

Just think of how much they have reduced their carbon footprint! The United Nations will give them a Lifetime Achievement Award (for all the lives that have been laid down). Just a few more months, and they will be the example for everyone to follow. Blow up any energy production and storage, and you too can travel back in time, be unable to heat your homes in the cold, unable to air condition in the summer. ‘Get in touch’ with how your ancestors lived (but only lived to age 40 or 50). Living any longer is abusing the planet. Come on, man.

I agree! It’s not a military move. This is about trying to force a negotiation.
Why would Russia want to force a negotiation? When your winning you don’t want to negotiate. Both sides should ask Trump for help.

they are interested in victory

if you can't achieve victory after 8 months against an opponent 1/4 your size, you'll never achieve victory

this stalemate could last for years ... and so will the sanctions

Russia is facing years of isolation and economic decline

Russia will be only a shell of itself by the time this is over ... and for what?

This is what $100+ billions of U.S. aid has wrought, a capital city without power and water. How has propping up a corrupt regime made the lives of Ukrainians better? How has it made American lives better?
