It’s amazing how many FReepers do not realize that, should the GOP win the House next week, it will be the lame duck congress that decides the nomination for Speaker.
The election will be held after the new Congress is seated. Since Speaker is open to anyone, a floor fight or split within the Republican caucus of the House *COULD* result in a RAT getting the chair. Therefore, whoever of the majority party gets the nomination, will assuredly get the Speakership....

Democrats are also this flagrant about lying. They say anything, even the most obviously untrue, comfortable in the knowledge that corrupt courts, press, politicians et al. will cover for them.
This is the state of the USA--and Western Civilization--in the 21st century. Contempt for truth underlies and erodes everything, including honor, basic human decency, effective government, education, information, science, and safety.
I have little doubt that McCarthy will cut a deal with Jordan to secure his spot as Speaker.

If there is a Republican majority in the House in January, please pay attention to how many votes (as a % of the whole number) Kevin McCarthy gets for Speaker, and then draw the appropriate conclusions.

You’re incorrect. The Speaker is chosen at the beginning of each Congress, which means he or she is selected by those congressmen elected on Tuesday and sworn in in January.
They are still trying to pin this on the higher ups. Until they admit that the entire department is corrupt from top to bottom, they are just gaslighting us.
I don’t want ANY Congressman who ever slapped backs with Paul Ryan in charge of the House - EVER.
It is an organization that benefits of 30 years of NWO Presidents who allowed its ranks to be filled with their like minded ilk. GHWB, WJC, GWB, BHO and now two years of that Depends President.
Fire EVERY one of them from the mailroom to the boardroom and raze every building or facility they ever occupied. They are enemies to America.
The first step for any new Speaker must be to hold the line that this Congress will NOT raise the Debt Ceiling or allow for continued deficit spending. If the government doesn’t have enough money to spend then it has to wait until enough revenue comes in to go spend more money. I’m so sick and tired of us getting Speakers/Presidents who claim to care about America but who end up screwing everyone over, especially the yet-to-be-born millions who will have to pay the debt off.
