Soros-backed group demands IRS use Johnson Amendment against churches

A fight that appears periodically about election time in United States has been resurrected again this year – by a George Soros-supported leftist group that is demanding the IRS use the Johnson Amendment against churches.
That statute says religious groups cannot endorse or oppose election candidates, and it's been little used because of the likelihood it violates the First Amendment.
Having the amendment to use as a threat might in many cases seem to be more attractive than using it – and having a court throw it out entirely.

In many cases a priest or pastor will mention a policy such as being against abortion that is clearly associated with one particular candidate or a party platform.
Even though the candidate or party is never mentioned, the church will be threatened with violating its non-profit status by supporting a particular candidate or party.
Even the threat is enough to stifle debate and free speech.
Meanwhile many leftist non-profits support get-out-the-vote drives that focus entirely on getting left leaning citizens to vote and this is supposedly hunky-dory.

Of course it would only be applied against Christian churches attended by whites. No black churches,no synagogues,no Unitarian/Universalist “churches”.

This move by Soros is EXACTLY what the “Separation of Church and State” was meant to protect against. It has been perverted 180 degrees from its true intention.

When LBJ was a senator, he crafted (or helped craft) legislation giving churches tax exempt status with the caveat that churches must
never try to influence their congregations politically (of course this applies only to Bible believing, conservative congregations/churches). If they do, they will lose their tax exempt status.
That's the gist of it. Of course someone older than me (I'm older than dirt btw) on here may have a different interpretation/take on it.

I’ve been wondering why the Mossad hasn’t taken this sorry SOB out, especially if/when he’s left US soil.
