Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.), one of the speakers at former President Donald Trump's rally in Des Moines, Iowa, on Thursday, said that if Republicans win control of Congress next week, they will use their power of the purse to cut off military aid to Ukraine as it battles Russian invaders.

"Under Republicans, not another penny will go to Ukraine," she said, to cheers from the crowd.

Desperate, alleged election-stealing Democrats foolishly spent the country’s last actual penny a long time ago. I think Rep Marjorie Taylor Greene really meant no more IOUs to Ukraine.

There is at least one FReeper who will only vote for candidates who pledge to support sending US dollars to Ukraine.

Yeah, that would be me, in reference to the midterms. Two years down the road, different story. But right now, I wouldn't vote for anyone who thinks that letting Russia roll over Ukraine without consequences is a good idea. That would include MTG although I'm not in her district anyway.

That issue may well cost JD Vance in Ohio, though. Large Eastern European/anti-Russian community that normally votes GOP but is furious over this.

Don’t worry the RATs will be pleased you are voting to allow them to continue ruining the US over a foreign country that is not our business.

Soros thanks you.

Using your criteria, and if the opportunity was in front of you, you'd vote for a Liz Cheney before a Marjorie Taylor Greene on 11/8/22?

No, the sign is perfect as it is.

“Trust the science” is throwing back at the leftist their own propaganda.

Then maybe they should go back to Eastern Europe?

Because a lot of us *Americans* are furious that large sums of *our* hard-earned money are being sent to a small country in Europe every time their little grifter of a leader demands it. Let the Europeans give him the money he demands.

I think she really meant to say “not another penny will go into Zekensky’s pocket”.

The guy seems like a total sleaze ball and we have become his ATM machine.

Absolutely not. Just because I want my reps to oppose Russia doesn't mean that opposing Russia itself would earn my vote.

I'd never vote for either. Wholly apart from Ukraine, I think MTG is a moron. Cheney isn't moron, but is actually worse because she has put her brain in service to the left.

Sure, nod nod, wink wink. As soon as they're called racists or pro Putin they'll cave, that's if they even stop the flow to begin with, which I doubt. Republicans are weak.

Suit yourself. I don't support sending bank checks to Ukraine. I do support sending military equipment to kill the Russian invaders, degrade Russia's conventional military capabilities.

Probably some of the most efficient and effective use of our military dollars ever. Russia is rapidly burning through military equipment it has been preserving for decades. Tanks, APC's, artillery in particular...even losing ships. When this war ends, it'll be a second-rate conventional military power, and without any American troops being killed because the Ukrainians are willing to fight for their own freedom.

The way I see it, letting the Russians roll would send a green light to Iran, North Korea, and China that we'll sit by idly if they decide to start wars on their own, and I think that is an extraordinarily dangerous signal to send.

Feel free to disagree. But I don't trust the judgment of any politician who believes that is a good idea.

"Go back" to a country their great-grandparents emigrated from, where they don't speak the language, because they have an opinion you don't like?

Ukraine is one of the larger countries of Europe (larger than Germany), with a population comparable to California's.

One of Putin’s many paid minions in the US congress.

That's the ticket. Start turning on patriots to keep your Uke propaganda going.
Are going to turn on Trump when he says the same thing? Or have you already?

Hopefully one day you will see what a moron you've been.

—”the KRP, has been intercepting weapons shipments from Ukraine to motorcycle gangs in Finland.”

Looking around, it appears the source for this story is RUSSIA TODAY.

Just because it comes from RT does not make it fake news, about the same as many others.
Well-made propaganda is mostly true with some fallacious BS.

Very little is actually said in the article.
Occam’s Razor would suggest this is a small Russian gang operation. Finland has a long border with Russia.
They probably are stuffing AKs in the washing machines they loot/murdered from the Ukrainians.

That said, what is the size of motorcycle gangs in Finland?
It’s a long hike from Ukraine to Finland.

Some weapons meant for Ukraine in hands of Finnish criminals, say investigators

Criminal gangs in Finland have captured some weapons, such as assault rifles, shipped by various countries to Ukrainian armed forces, Finnish newspaper Yle reported on Oct. 30, with reference to Finland’s National Bureau of Investigation (NBI).

According to the NBI, they have developed routes, connections, and connections needed for trafficking illegal weapons from Ukraine to Finland.

“Three of the world’s largest motorcycle gangs – that are part of larger international organisations – are active in Finland,” NBI Detective Superintendent Christer Ahlgren told Yle.

House will go +53 R, 270 R to 165 D. Senate will go at least +4 R and as much as +6 R. Senate life in DC will be different with 54 to 56 R and the RATS down to 46 D or 44 D seats.

If they’re “furious” at those of us who don’t wish to pump endless amounts of *our* money into some European country (which is roughly the size of my state, so yes, to me as a country it’s small), then yes, perhaps they should go back to Eastern Europe where people are more likely to be sympathetic to their cause.

You’ll note that the poster said “Eastern Europeans,” not “Americans of Eastern European descent.” So either the poster misspoke or you misinterpreted. We *do* have a lot of foreigners in this country.

If Ireland, the country from where my ancestors came, was demanding billions of dollars from our Treasury every month, I’d be vehemently opposed to that as well.

And thanks, but I don’t need any FReepsplaining about Europe. I’ve lived there.

I have never, ever expressed any support for Russia. What is it with these FReepers who think that because we recognize Zelensky as very corrupt, we support Russia? That’s just nuts.

I have always expressed support for a negotiated peace settlement so that all of the citizens can resume a normal life and stop suffering atrocities just because two big egos and their minions want to have a go at each other.
