Russians will gladly give up ground knowing they can retake it just to continue the process of destroying Ukrainian manpower and military hardware Ukraine can NOT afford to lose.

It’s called, drag in and destroy and been working effectively for about 4-5 months now......

That's the ticket, vatnik. The Russians victoriously retreat while the Ukrainians advance in panic. Bagdad Bob would be proud.

That planned calm series of constant withdrawals could not have included turning over so much critical and deadly armor, transportation, and ammunition to the forces overrunning them.

You'd have to be a Ukrainian or a neocon not to figure out the scheme - centuries after Clausewitz first wrote about it.

obody in the history of warfare has ever deliberately given up a bridgehead across a major river just so they can recross it later to inflict more casualties during the crossing.

If Russia does withdraw, it will be because it is much easier to defend the east side of the river. Unless Russia was planning a major drive north and west from Kherson, it made no sense to hold on to that bridgehead. Simple as that.

Funny, it looks more like “run away...run away” has been working effectively.

Seems to have been working alright.

Russia needs 300,000 more troops all of a sudden.

Can’t figure out why. Maybe you have the answer.

Sad.

“ It’s called, drag in and destroy and been working effectively for about 4-5 months now.”

Putin was supposed to win in less than a week.

At this rate Russia will still be “winning” in 2027.

Total BS

What has actually happened over and over and over is a Russian attack creates a salient and the Ukraine forces envelop from two sides destroying the effort. The resulting absence of Russian forces allows the Ukraines to advance beyond the original line, a road junction taking in lots of adjacent territory. The Russians thus lose not only the ground but most importantly the road required to move about and receive logistical support.

The Ukrainian ground gained thusly is measured in square miles, rivers crossed and roads controlled

The only decent Russian force is the Wagner group of mercenaries that have expended tons of men and treasure attempting to create such a salient at Bahkut. The Mercenaries have shamed the incompetent Russian army
