If you think Tucker’s wrong, you haven’t read Raskins statement on why we need to keep sending Americans’ tax dollars to the war in Ukraine:

Moscow “is a world center of antifeminist, antigay, anti-trans hatred, as well as the homeland of replacement theory for export. In supporting Ukraine, we are opposing these fascist views, and supporting the urgent principles of democratic pluralism.” - Jamie Ruskin, Oct 25 2022

Here is a good article on the subject:

https://www.theamericanconservative.com/the-cost-of-waging-world-war-trans/

Basically much of the world is against the “woke” agenda.

So people on FR are not alone in this, we are among the world majority.

It’s the Dems who are extreme on this issue.

And so many here want Russia defeated at the very least, and I’m sure some want them destroyed. And also according to them, we cannot send Ukraine enough money, and they want to fight Russia down to the last Ukrainian.

Getting rid of all remnants of Christianity is definitely part of the agenda.

I believe the near extinction of Christianity worldwide must happen before the coming of the Christ.

Many here side with Raskin and long for the defeat of Russia and promote the victory for the Western deep state in Ukraine. Sometimes our guys are the bad guys.

Tucker is 100% correct. NeoCONS are a disgrace. Russia should be an ally in Christendom, and the perfect counterbalance to China and Islamic extremism, but the neoCON scum won’t risk their money laundering operations in Ukraine to seek out peace. PLus the neoCONs aren’t Christian anyway, so they don’t want a united front of Christians. Most leaders in the West are “post-Christian” globohomos and despise a leader who promotes Christianity.

Hitler hated the gays also, why is this an issue?

No one cares that Russia is right about opposing the gays, this isn’t about that, it’s about Russia invading an innocent neighbor and trying to take over part of their country illegally and committing war crimes in the process.

I can believe that “Putin” is a traditional person when it comes to woke issues and anti-globalism.

However, it is a mistake to view him as a champion of “Christian values” given how he and his corruptocrat inner circle have siphoned up almost all of the wealth in Russia leaving his people very poor.

This is the paradox that many here on FR appear unable to navigate. They “support” him because they support his anti-globalist message while others see that if there was money and power in it for him he would support the Raskin agenda.

His “message” that resonates with people in the West is simply “best politik” for him, but he is probably the wealthiest person in the world and that wealth came at the expense of his citizens whom he is supposed to “serve” (his words - not mine).

Raskin signed the progressives’ letter asking for a negotiated peace. Then the progressives had to back down. Raskin needed a reason to justify his flip-flop. He went with the theme of the day: LGBTQ+ (with a nod to feminism and nativism and a discrete wink at racism). I don’t see a deep-seated hatred of Russia, Russian Orthodoxy or Christianity involved.

According to Carlson, Raskin’s public remarks showed he was against Russia because it was an “orthodox Christian country with traditional social values.

By every measure, including church attendance, Ukraine is a much more religious "orthodox country" than Russia.

I used to like Tucker before his pro-Russia crap had me listening to his stuff more closely. And in short, he is deliberately misleading and dishonest, the exact sins of which he accuses everyone who disagrees with him. Here's a classic Tuckerism from that article:

"The White House banned Russian oil, natural gas and coal. It was our moral duty. Then at the same time, the Biden administration crushed domestic oil production here by canceling oil and gas leases and then, as if that wasn’t enough, the Biden administration sold a piece of our Strategic Petroleum Reserve, maybe this country’s most important resource, to China. None of this hurt Putin in any way. All of it impoverishes the United States.

So what could possibly be the justification for doing that? We’ve wondered. Anyone who is paying attention has had to have wondered that.

Well, this week, Congressman Jamie Raskin of Maryland, of Bethesda answered that question. Russia is an orthodox Christian country with traditional social values and for that reason, it must be destroyed, no matter what the cost to us."

Okay, so who the hell appointed Jamie Raskin to answer on behalf of the entire country the question posed by Tucker? Oh, I know -- Tucker himself did. That is just incredibly dishonest. Tucker personally anoints this one guy as speaking for everyone who supports Ukraine, because he know that one guy's motivations would spark utrage in Tucker's target audience. Mission accomplished on that point, it seems.

And then, he rips apart this one guy, and by extension everyone who supports Ukraine because they all want to destroy an Orthodox Christian country. Because that's what motivates all of us, doncha know.

Tucker is too smart a guy to not know exactly what he is doing here, which just makes it that much worse. It is ridiculous, fraudulent, and insulting to the tens of millions of other people who support Ukraine for reasons that have nothing to do with LGBTQ crap in either Ukraine or Russia. But Tucker does it because it advances his own agenda against supporting Ukraine, and provides red meat to his target audience to boost his ratings.

He is a despicably dishonest commentator.

Raskins may be a lunatic, but Ukraine is a Christian country.

Putin is employing muslim fighters to kill Christians.

No one is planning to destroy Russia so yeah Tucker is way wrong.

Putin isn’t trying to preserve Christianity. Not even close.

Doesn’t Russia have a right to its own values and culture? However the war in Ukraine turns out, that right does not change, whether a putz from Maryland likes it or not. Ukrainian Orthodox and Catholics should be on the side of Russia on the issues about which Raskin wants to wage actual war. Are they?

Years ago the church I attended would always pray for the conversion of Russia. I guess Russia has converted. Now, it is the United States leaders that are in power that have gone to the ‘dark side’.
