I can believe that “Putin” is a traditional person when it comes to woke issues and anti-globalism.

However, it is a mistake to view him as a champion of “Christian values” given how he and his corruptocrat inner circle have siphoned up almost all of the wealth in Russia leaving his people very poor.

This is the paradox that many here on FR appear unable to navigate. They “support” him because they support his anti-globalist message while others see that if there was money and power in it for him he would support the Raskin agenda.

His “message” that resonates with people in the West is simply “best politik” for him, but he is probably the wealthiest person in the world and that wealth came at the expense of his citizens whom he is supposed to “serve” (his words - not mine).

I think Putin is just cynically trying to take advantage of the divide in Western Countries, just as the Bolsheviks did during the Cold War.

The difference is that the Bolshies supported the Left, and Putin supports the Right. But the goal is the same.
