The 51-year-old mayor of Kyiv, and former heavyweight boxing champion of the world, told The Telegraph that increasing Russian attacks on power plants have left his country on the brink of a fresh humanitarian crisis.
“We are doing everything we can do to save the lives of our people and to protect them,” he said, banging his huge fists on the table.
“But this winter will definitely be a huge challenge for us.”
In little over a fortnight, Moscow’s strikes on power stations and the wider grid have left the country grappling with outages and questioning whether the system will survive the harsh winter months.

We should mind our own business. Let mother Russia have Ukraine.
GIBS-ME-DAT bunch of generators.🔌🔌
Stolen natgas doesn’t do you any good if you haven’t got the electric to move it to where the common folk need it...
How did people in that area survive for millenia before electricity?????
I’m probably one of the few boxing fans left on the planet, and I really enjoyed watching the Klitschko brothers in the ring. I hope they can lead the people of the Ukraine in deposing Zelensky. At some level they must realize he’s nothing more than a tool of the West who is leading the nation to complete ruin. A second Churchill my azz.
We have sent billions to Ukraine and nobody bought blankets?
Where the hell did all that money go?
LOLOLOLOL
Let private citizens send all the blankets and generators they care to. Heck, we’ve got dozens of afghans around here that I’d love to get rid of (my wife really likes to crochet).
But not one cent of taxpayer money.
Maybe they could use some of that thousand zillion dollars our moronic _resident already sent over there to buy some.
I definitely think we should send them more aid
Military and humanitarian.
Where the hell did all that money go?
The people who “started” the war on this side have it along with the ruling class of the Ukraine (just like it was before the war).
The people suffering the most will see very little, if any, of it.
You can say the same thing on the Russian side.
All the money from all the energy sales prior to this insanity went to Putin and his inner circle.
At the rate our nation is spending money we don’t have my kids can probably ask the same question seeing as how they will be paying for contributions made in their name for the rest of their lives if we don’t end up in a nuclear war first.
They’ve been sent plenty of cash to be able to buy blankets and generators and then some. Friggin’ corrupt country.
We're broke. Tapped out. Ain't nothing left in the till. $31 trillion in the hole.
We have sent billions to Ukraine and nobody bought blankets?

“ when you shake hands of a Ukrainian, be sure to check how many fingers he stole”…it is an ago old saying, proving to be truer ever day.
Calling for the corrupted little comedian’s ouster is way past- hopefully the people will realize how much he and his government has stolen from them- and act accordingly.
I'm sure a lot of it wound up in the pockets and numbered bank accounts of Ukrainian and Western politicians.
I'm aware of one Ukrainiac who has adopted two soldiers and is sending them candy. I hope he adds a white flag in the next shipment.
….blankets and generators huh? Without electricity, they will have no fuel, …
Didn’t anyone believe Vlad three weeks ago when he said he hasn’t even started? Vlad has shown much restraint, hope he doesn’t decide to wage war like the US….maybe the West can now understand what an SMO was.
Now the war cheerleaders laughter will have to turn to stark reality, Vlad outsmarted and checkmated Biden and his Ukie war cheerleaders and there is nothing the West can do about it.
