Good evening/morning, lightman, and a Blessed Lord’s Day to you and yours.

And a blessed Twentieth Sunday after Pentecost & Reformation Sunday (Western...the later for Protestants)/Nineteenth Sunday after Pentecost (Orthodox).

How’s the car hunting going?

You’re doin’ it right. Ya gotta take the kid to the grave with you, otherwise you go there alone.

One of the best Halloweens I ever had was as a volunteer at a charity Haunted House. It was a last minute ask so I had no thought of a costume, or what to do. Well, as I learned back in my Mil Days, IMPROVISE! So, I had an old black wool stadium coat with a hood, a fencing mask so nobody could see a face in the hood, brand new firefighter gloves (I was a volunteer firefighter/EMT for 25+years), black sweat pants, and an oak staff 6’ long and an inch and a half thick.

“Waddaya want me to do?”
“Just stay out here and scare people.”
“OK.”

So I crouched on a round 3-4 foot rock and looked around at people coming to the entrance. Had a great YODA crouch in those days. Nobody could see I had a face. Hopped off the rock, chimpanzee crouched over and approached a guy I knew as if I was curious what he was. He had no idea who I was. I kept trying to touch him and he kept backing off and I realized he was really uncomfortable. AND THE GAME WAS ON!!!

I never spoke a word, grunted expressively, and actually had people complain that there was “some weird guy out there!”

I LOVED IT!!! IT WAS SO GREAT! I KNEW SO MANY OF THOSE PEOPLE, NOBODY KNEW WHO, OR EVEN WHAT, I WAS, AND LOTS OF THEM WERE REALLY AFRAID OF ME. IT WAS GREAT!

Later I told guys, “THAT WAS ME!”...”GET OUTTA HERE!”
“THAT WAS ME...HRUH!”

I almost forgot that Halloween. Long time ago. It was great fun.

I’m surprised the returnees haven’t made a ruckus to let you know they’re back and hungry. LOL
I wonder how many you’ll end up with this winter. It was over 200 last year. egads!!

Hawks don’t hunt at night but owls certainly do. It’s a pretty safe bet that hawk was trying to steal the owl’s supper.

I hope there aren’t any owls close by your house these days.

ROTFLMBO!!!!!! The mental image of your costume and the way you acted to freak people out is a scream! I love how well it worked. I probably would have shrunk away, too, but laughing as I did it. Halloween is for being spooked. :-)

Howdy, E.G.C. ((HUGZ))

I hope you and Gizmo had nicer weather for your outing yesterday. It looked pretty dismal Friday.

We did although it was still cloudy but it felt a little warmer.

We also had ribs for supper.

Today is KFC Pick Up Day. We also plan on doing Comanche Lake later today.

Gizmo found a smelly spot to roll in. He didn’t care if it was cloudy or not. LOL

Have fun at Comanche Lake later today and enjoy your KFC.
