Serving The Best Troops and Veterans In The World !! | The Canteen Crew

A FRIEND IS......

The person who gives you the better of two choices.

Holds your hand when you’re scared.

Helps you fight those who try to take advantage of you.

Thinks of you at times when you are not there.

Reminds you of what you have forgotten.

Helps you put the past behind you, but understands when you need to hold on a little longer.

Stays with you so that you have confidence.

Goes out of their way to make time for you.

Helps you clear up your mistakes.

Helps you deal with pressure from others.

Smiles for you when you are sad.

Helps you become a better person.

But most importantly....embraces you with love when you least deserve it.

Hope in God
Read: Lamentations 3:22–26

I say to myself, “The Lord is my portion; therefore I will wait for him.” Lamentations 3:24

As the holiday season approached, package shipments were delayed due to an unprecedented influx of online orders. I can remember a time when my family preferred to simply go to the store and purchase items because we knew we had very little control over the speed of mail delivery. However, when my mother signed up for an account that included expedited shipping, this expectation changed. Now with a two-day guaranteed delivery, we’re accustomed to receiving things quickly, and we become frustrated by delays.

We live in a world accustomed to instant gratification, and waiting can be difficult. But in the spiritual realm, patience is still rewarded. When the book of Lamentations was written, the Israelites were mourning the destruction of Jerusalem by the Babylonian army, and they faced a series of challenges. However, in the midst of chaos, the writer boldly affirmed that because he was confident that God would meet his needs, he would wait on Him (Lamentations 3:24). God knows we’re inclined to become anxious when answers to our prayers are delayed. Scripture encourages us by reminding us to wait on God. We don’t have to be consumed or worried because “his compassions never fail” (v. 22). Instead, with God’s help we can “be still . . . and wait patiently for him” (Psalm 37:7). May we wait on God, trusting in His love and faithfulness even as we wrestle with longings and unanswered prayers.Kimya Loder

How have you been waiting for God? How might you trust His timing?

Heavenly Father, sometimes it can be difficult to wait on You. Please give me the strength to continue hoping in You.

Bible in a year: Jeremiah 20–21; 2 Timothy 4

Dear God:
I ask that no Airman, Coast Guardsman,
Marine, Sailor, Soldier, Reservist, National Guardsman, or Merchant Marine
feel alone or forgotten.

O Israel, hope in the Lord;
For with the Lord there is loving kindness,
And with Him is abundant redemption.
And He will redeem Israel
From all his iniquities.

Psalm 130:7 & 8

A Friend is a buddy that, after the usual shenanigans on a weekend liberty, remains in a drunken stupor long enough for you to convince the authorities that it was all his fault.

Say Hey, to you both, and a good week to you. Just the start of a new week and I’m already tired!

Hope you’re both well.

Halloween’s almost here. Memories. When my first born was 3 years old I spent all night making her a black witch’s hat to rival Margaret Hamilton’s. She still has it.

I keep telling her now that my grandson’s 10 years old she shouldn’t make him wear it anymore, but she doesn’t listen.

Good evening, Mayor, and thank you for today’s sustenance for body and soul.

Hope you and Mrs Mayor got some off time today.

How is your mixer doing? What state does it go to when completed?

Howdy, Kathy.

You had to go in to the office today? Bummer. From what I’ve read in LH chat, it’s mighty nippy up there today. Looking at the lake’s surface, there’s a nasty wind blowing as well. A good day to stay home if you could have.

Yes, I’m a bit beat this evening. I didn’t sleep well at all the last two nights so started off tired. I was the only one doing tours yesterday and we all stayed on the go today. It was a lot of fun but da dawgs are barkin’. LOL

Howdy, TigerHawk!

Well enough here but like you, tired. This getting old thing isn’t for the faint of heart. LOL

You must have made that witch’s hat very solid if you daughter still has it after all these years.

I used to love dressing up and heading out to Halloween parties but we never go out anymore. No trick-or-treaters come by the house so no dressing up to spook the kids. LOL

All alone? Repeat customers? New and interesting folks?

Very nippy...mall flag was flying straight out. Fortunately, it’s a pretty short walk from my car into the building. Unfortunately, my feet are still cold. My slippers are just not doing the trick.

But...2 mornings ago I had to get binoculars to try to see why the snow was so disturbed on the bank. Guess what? Lots of duck prints. About 20 have come the last 2 evenings. I hope the hawk is still gone.

He Who blessed our forefathers Abraham, Isaac and Jacob - may He bless the fighters of the Israel Defense Force, who stand guard over our land and the cities of our G-d from the border of the Lebanon to the desert of Egypt, and from the Great Sea unto the approach of the Aravah, on the land, in the air, and on the sea.

May HASHEM cause the enemies who rise up against us to be struck down before them. May the Holy One, Blessed is He, preserve and rescue our fighting men from every trouble and distress and from every plague and illness, and may He send blessing and success in their every endeavor.

May He lead our enemies under their sway and may He grant them salvation and crown them with victory. And may there be fulfilled for them the verse: For it is Hashem, your G-d, Who goes with you to battle your enemies for you to save you.

G-d bless and keep your children safe, Alouette.
