“One clinical study showed that a moderate dose of pure THC causes psychotic symptoms in about 40% of people who lack a family history of psychosis. If you’re a casual user and your dosage is mild, that likely just means a touch of paranoia,” said neuroscientist Christine Miller, an expert on psychotic disorders.
Thirty-five percent of people who have experienced such symptoms, however, will go on to experience a full psychotic break, according to another study, if they continue their high risk environmental exposure by continuing to use cannabis.
According to multiple studies, for those who have ever suffered a full cannabis-induced psychotic break, the chance that, if you still keep using, you’ll eventually develop permanent schizophrenia is almost 50 percent. That’s a higher conversion rate than amphetamines, opioids or LSD.
But what really makes THC more dangerous than those other drugs, experts say, is that so few people consider it dangerous at all. “We know fentanyl is bad. We know meth is bad,” said Dr. Libby Stuyt, a recently retired addiction psychiatrist in Colorado. “We don’t know that marijuana is bad.”

FWIW the Americans Indians didn’t have cannabis and it’s use wasn’t widespread in the USA until the 1920’s when they Mexicans fleeing the Mex Revolution showed up with it and then the blacks picked it up from there.
Peyote has a kick though...
High concentrates, burned at high temps. Gonna be a real health problem down the road.
Yep… which makes no sense to me considering the contributions of the Irish People to Western Civ and their mixed, but essentially fully Western Euro genes. Irish as ‘less than’ is a construct made up by the dirty rotten English bastards. (My wife hates the English). As a Swedish/German/Baltic mutt I look on it all in amusement.
And don’t forget cyclic vomiting syndrome or cannabis hyperemesis which is another big problem in ERs
Mostly Celtic and Viking blood.
I thought you were Jewish? Levy?...
“My cop brother in law repeatedly says they are finding fentanyl cut in with pot all the time now.”
I started using the term “Narco-Darwinism” some years back. Fentanyl might become the extreme example of it.
So I guess what I read was about after 1920.
Or it could have been about the Mexican natives, not the Americans? I seem to remember that it was here.
Can’t remember where I read it.
In any case, the point remains the same. Something is controlled when it’s dangerous.
You cannot know that, and there can never be a blood, urine, or breath test that can measure psychosis. It is much more likely that chronic psychotic potheads were already schizoid freakazoids, who sought out pot to self-medicate their mental impairments. It is a cinch that chronic psychotic potheads didn't stop with THC and have been tripping on other substances beyond marijuana. They didn't call it the gateway drug for no reason.
“””Only thing I desire to smoke are meats”””
I had a bumper sticker with this when I attended San Francisco State University.

Reason is not something this forum is known for
Ain’t that the truth.
Out of my extended circle we’ve lost several to the direct or indirect effects of alcohol
Do have one relative that probably could have been more successful if they weren’t a stoner but never any trouble with the law or drama in their life so at least anecdotally my experience is the same
“San Diego ER seeing up to 37 marijuana cases a day — mostly psychosis”
No, it’s not weed causing the psychosis, it’s Democrats who actually believed their party was anti-war.
Dabs. High concentrates, burned at high temps. Can you translate that? Wait, are you talking about processing resin to make it stronger? That used to be called Hashish.
Hash is a cannabis concentrate product composed of compressed or purified preparations of stalked resin glands, called trichomes, from the plant.Sigh, there is nothing new under the sun.
Ecclesiastes 1:9 The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.
“true issue isn’t weed, but mental illness”
This subject is way more complicated than has been discussed on this thread.
Weed is truly dangerous for some populations including children (and even teens) since it harms brain development—as well as the mentally ill.
It is much less dangerous for adults when used in moderation.
While originally I favored legalization I do not like the way it is being handled—what is happening is that young people are getting persuaded they should quit tobacco but weed is ok.
That is a disaster—harming your brain is much more serious than harming your lungs.
Deep States prefer their populations to be stoned, stupid, and sedentary.
Those people are far easier to rule.
