A given.

The Left’s plan to cripple or destroy Twitter: Remove as much of their ad revenue as possible.

Let’s make a list, check it twice, and circulate it to all Trump supporters.

Not enough woke people with $$$ to keep GM in business.

Weaklings with no fortitude.

What exactly are they protesting by pulling ads?

I bet they don’t have the guts to say anything to try to define it. Because really there’s nothing to protest.

It’s not like Musk is any kind of true conservative or even throwing around the name of a particular political party. All that is happening here is we get to see what happens when someone with money and a little power dares to be independent in thought and action. That’s really all this is.

It shouldn’t be all THAT big of deal, except that apparently Twitter is/was more than it is supposed to be. So what if a different tech mogul buys them? WHY is that so important? Oh... because the platform really did exist for reasons other than just making profit or being an open public forum for discourse. Tech sites come, tech sites go, others rise and take their place. MySpace, AOL Instant Messenger, Compuserve... it was just a footnote in news when they faded. But Twitter? No, TWITTER being bought out by a consortium led by Elon Musk had our current administration threatening to look at it for NATIONAL SECURITY reasons. A large number of countries around the globe have access to and use Twitter. What questions do you think they were asking themselves when they saw that? The US has not cited national security concerns about hundreds of other high profile tech sites being gobbled up and moved overseas over the years. But this one was somehow different.

General Motors, which competes with Musk's car company, announced it has 'temporarily paused' it's paid advertising on Twitter.

I hope they go broke.

Just how long will General Motors continue to be in business?
Musk has been killing GM in the market from Tesla for years.
I doubt if Musk is going to lose any sleep over this.

Fascism on display - Private businesses doing what our Constitution prohibits the government from doing. Censorship by coercion.

Why are these companies afraid of free speech?

I suggest that GM's canceling its advertising at Twitter is not about GM's rivalry with Tesla. It's about GM's objection to Twitter becoming a platform for free speech.

This is GM's declaration to the world that it is now officially aligning with Woke World.

In Woke World, there is only Woke Speech. Speech of those outside Woke World is "hate speech," just as people outside Woke World are "haters."

The rules of Woke World require that non-Woke people and their speech be kept out of Woke World.

GM is signaling that it is going full Woke.

As an aside, Tesla is still a darling of Woke World despite Musk owning it. All the above is not to say that GM wouldn't like to replace Tesla as the Woke vehicle of choice.

I wish I could boycott them....but I would swore off any and all Government Motors products when they took a huge bailout under Obama that they spent DECADES swearing up and down before Congress that they would never ask for.

I WILL make a point of permanently boycotting any companies that boycott Free Twitter should Trump return.

They are just shooting themselves in the foot.

By pulling out in protest, they are effectively telling us that they oppose freedom of speech and freedom of expression, but rather support the tyrannical and oppressive heavy hand of the government controlling our lives.

This way, I know who to never do business with.

General Motors

Government Motors...bought and paid for...

If their ad dollars counted before, they will be in front of more eyes now, if Musk follows thru and truly opens the platform. They will come slithering back.

Virtue signalling at its best....

I have never seen any advertising on Twitter. And I am there at least once a day. ><>>> I use an ad-blocker called uBlock Origin - A Free, open-source ad content blocker.

Maybe I'm just old school, but I would think there would be a contract involved for GMs advertising on Twitter. I would also think that existing contracts would have been included in the terms of the sale, sort of like accounts receivable or inventory. GM may be able to cancel their advertising, but I expect that they will still have to pay for it.
