Elon Musk has already had a volatile effect after taking control of Twitter, and at least one advertiser - one of Musk's Tesla competitors - has paused advertising on the social media giant to take stock of the situation.
General Motors, which competes with Musk's car company, announced it has 'temporarily paused' it's paid advertising on Twitter.
However, the company said in a statement that they will continue to interact with Twitter's customer care service.

This is GM's declaration to the world that it is now officially aligning with Woke World.
In Woke World, there is only Woke Speech. Speech of those outside Woke World is "hate speech," just as people outside Woke World are "haters."
The rules of Woke World require that non-Woke people and their speech be kept out of Woke World.
GM is signaling that it is going full Woke.
As an aside, Tesla is still a darling of Woke World despite Musk owning it. All the above is not to say that GM wouldn't like to replace Tesla as the Woke vehicle of choice.
Ironically, many of the leftist pseudo-intellectual snob crowd would never by a GM car. It would be like buying cracker-barrel cheddar instead of an aged Gouda.
There are plenty of companies looking for advertising venues... Elon sells Tesla’s... He was probably going to drop them regardless of their ‘opinion’... Why advertise the competition when you can advertise your own car company?
I wish I could boycott them....but I would swore off any and all Government Motors products when they took a huge bailout under Obama that they spent DECADES swearing up and down before Congress that they would never ask for.
I WILL make a point of permanently boycotting any companies that boycott Free Twitter should Trump return.
Looks like GM agrees with you and is setting out to change that.
They are just shooting themselves in the foot.
By pulling out in protest, they are effectively telling us that they oppose freedom of speech and freedom of expression, but rather support the tyrannical and oppressive heavy hand of the government controlling our lives.
This way, I know who to never do business with.
I am 67 years old and have never owned a GM product. I have never been a fan of what they produced.
General Motors
Government Motors...bought and paid for...
If their ad dollars counted before, they will be in front of more eyes now, if Musk follows thru and truly opens the platform. They will come slithering back.
Virtue signalling at its best....
The same thing, right?
Once Government Motors, always Government Motors.
My Employer recently sent out a note how the firm is committed to DIE and ESG. I wanted to puke—and I wonder if the move is because we are Beltway Bandits (and hance want to curry favor with the Brandon Regime).
Now THAT was funny!
6:30 AM - My first chuckle of the day.
Biden and even the Democrats are like all other people and institutions, respectively. They chose to go with Woke World.
Regarding Woke World, it is important to remember that it is a "mass formation." A kind of collective that sprang up in the U.S. and around the world "organically" (i.e., it wasn't planned). Woke World grew because needy people were attracted to an amorphous collection of movements that jelled and evolved into a large group of people and rules. It's similar to a jellyfish colony.
This Woke collective built a protective wall around itself to keep independent, free-thinking people and organizations out.
You are either part of Woke World or you are outside and dead to those on the inside.
Think about what is going on re: the Woke World being a collective "mass formation" and it will all begin to crystallize in your mind.
oooooooooooooo! bye bye
A non-union competitor.
GM doesn’t like free speech.
;-)
maybe we’ll see....musk to buy gm...
well...musk has 221 billion. gm is worth 55 billion...lol
Very bad idea.
GM is doomed. Keep away from it.
