Elon Musk has already had a volatile effect after taking control of Twitter, and at least one advertiser - one of Musk's Tesla competitors - has paused advertising on the social media giant to take stock of the situation.
General Motors, which competes with Musk's car company, announced it has 'temporarily paused' it's paid advertising on Twitter.
However, the company said in a statement that they will continue to interact with Twitter's customer care service.

I suggest that GM's canceling its advertising at Twitter is not about GM's rivalry with Tesla. It's about GM's objection to Twitter becoming a platform for free speech.Aether/oar? Wye knot booth?

Very bad idea.
GM is doomed. Keep away from it. Would GM be doomed with Elon at the helm?
Hmmmm, I see a new line of heavy duty trucks, called the Ox series.
Known colloquially as Musk-Ox...

In an obscure way, it is indeed both. The hit on Tesla is hiding/lurking behind the hit on Twitter. A direct hit on Tesla would confuse the Woke World which oddly still sees Tesla, despite its ownership by Musk, as its dream car and symbol of Wokeness.

As a lifelong Chevy owner, I cancelled General Motors more than two decades ago. NOT going back.

It looks like Monday is the day those companies will have to decide whether or not they support free speech. Reportedly, that’s when @realDonaldTrump is being restored.

I think they already did. The federal government bailed them out. All the car manufacturers that have bought into the “Green Wave” will face economic ruin, the sooner the better.

Don’t read too much lefty machination into this move. Musk is General Motors’ competition in his primary business.

I canceled GM back in the early 80’s after I dumped my rusty Nova.

Every time I think I want to give GM another chance, they pull another stunt to show me why I should just stay out of their showrooms.
If anyone at GM is reading this, signed a former satisfied GM owner.
