Biden signs climate treaty aimed at limiting greenhouse gases used in refrigeration

President Biden on Thursday signed a treaty that aims to limit the use of potent planet-warming gases that are used in refrigeration.

The treaty, known as the Kigali Amendment to the Montreal Protocol, aims to phase down the use of gases called hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs).

Unlike many other climate actions, this ones was relatively bipartisan, passing the Senate 69-27. It also had support from many industry players.

While HFCs have been a major climate challenge, the U.S. was already on its way to limiting them — with or without the treaty.

In 2020, Congress passed and then-President Trump signed a bipartisan energy bill that required the phase down of HFCs by 85 percent over a 15-year period. It’s a law that the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has already taken steps to implement.

Any treaty must be ratified by the Senate under the Constitution, otherwise, it’s just another stupid E.O. and will be thrown out in the under the next Trump administration. Has no longstanding impact.

Biden is now willing to do anything and everything to placate the insane climate-freaks to keep the Congress from going Republican. He doesn’t care, DOKTOR Jill doesn’t care, Ubama doesn’t care and Hillary and Bill don’t care. They all have the millions needed to overcome any adversities the peon masses might be subjected to.

They are trying to. Wood stoves, fireplaces, pellet stoves, hand warmers, long Johns all bad. Freezing to death, good.

Remember when refrigerators used to work fine for 40 years and now die after five?

You can thank our adherence to "climate change" for our new appliances that no longer work worth a damn.

Can a president “sign a treaty” without congressional approval?

Just imagine the loss of reliable refrigeration across the board. Including the entire length of the food chain. Not just at the consumer level. Starve people. Just another part of the globalist plan.

The President does not make treaty - Congress does. Did this go through Congress?

No, they didn’t ban fire, but whatever the government doesn’t ban they make mandatory. ( Along with freon, they already banned new Halon production to prevent freckles or whatever. If there was one thing they could do to increase suffering it was to ban Halon.)

Check the manufacturer’s label on your new fridge. In most, non flammable HCF refrigerants have been replaced with flammable cyclopentane. HCFs were originally developed to be non toxic and nonflammable alternatives to other more hazardous refrigerants. Thanks to these green initiatives many of us now have a potential bomb in our kitchens. Presumably you car air conditioning may also be replaced with flammable refrigerants. Again thanks to the greens we may be driving a fire prone EV with flammable air conditioning systems.

He can sign anything he wants but it won’t go into effect until ratified by the senate. I believe Clinton signed off on the Kyoto agreement in 1995 but it was defeated unanimously in the Senate.
