Going to Lucianne.com this morning, as I do every morning, I was shocked and saddened to read that its proprietor, Lucianne Goldberg, has passed away:
Dear L Dotters.
We are heartbroken. Our beloved Lucianne passed away peacefully and surrounded by loved ones in her own home, the way she wanted. But she has left a whole in our lives that we can never fill completely.
Lucianne was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was also a patriot who expressed her love of this country with both political fierceness and penetrating wit.
In that part of her world this site became her home, her community, and her voice. She also wanted Lucianne.com to endure and she made arrangements that it would do so - just as it has for the past 25 years. The same loyal staff, the same policies, and the same principles. ( And before you ask, her son Jonah will not be involved.
She loved her son without reservation, but they saw politics differently from time to time. So, we've worked it out.
The Lucianne.com team will stay on and Jonah will stay out of it.)
Obviously, no one can replace Lucianne. But we can carry-on in her name. We're not asking you to send money or make donations to anything. We're just asking you to stick around. We think that's the best way to honor and keep her memory alive.
Please keep her light shining.
Lucianne was 87 years old this year, and her declining health was a concern to all of us who knew her. She is one of the most vivid personalities that I have ever known.

I am a proud former member who also got the boot.
RIP

yup, L. and the Dress... changed everything
unlike Liberty Post, which essentially shut down and archived itself when its founder passed.
Didn’t she start Lucianne.com after getting banned from here?
Lucianne.com is still a very good site.
Requiescat in pace, Trixie. We appreciated your work, resilience and commitment to Conservatism. I have been a Lucianne devotee nearly from the beginning and it eventually pointed the way to the wonderful world of Freepers. God rest your soul and bless your memory.
RIP!!
Be careful on what you post or you will get the boot too!
From the posts here it looks like it is a regular occurrence!
Just went to lucianne.com yesterday. She headlined very few stories each day, but they were generally the important ones.
Free Republic used to do that.
Now we’ve got slow on the uptake admins who seem to hate current events.
What did i say??
Same here.
Oh my, how sad. Lucianne was one of the early sites I came across when I first started identifying with the conservative movement. I used to regularly visit Lucianne, Debbie Schlussel, Liberty Post, and Drudge. I found FR through a Google search way back in about 2005 or so. The others I mostly found through links on each page. My how things have changed.
You have to ask Lucianne admin when the time comes.
Yep. Things have changed here.
Godspeed,trixie.. and thank you.
RIP Lucianne.
My two main sources of news. Lucianne.Com and freerepublic.com
looong time gone...
Goldi-Lox had passed months earlier before her body was found in her home natural causes. She was sole owner and moderator. What I'm saying is there was no one to take over best I remember no family, few friends, and the site adnin {Carter??} got concerned when he couldn't contact her. He knew her name and where she lived in Florida best I remember which lead to the discovery. He and maybe the original creator of the boards program Neil archived and IIRC the admin set it up to where archives could be accessed.
I left there before then due to CP nonsense of outing posters real names was going on and had been re-instated here. I had previously been booted from here for a while for not being loyal to da Smirking Chimp and someone twisting the context of a post I had once made.
