Virginia Democratic Sen. Mark Warner made a stunning admission while visiting Australia, asserting that former President Donald Trump was right to warn of social media platform TikTok's ties to the Chinese Communist Party.
"This is not something you would normally hear me say, but Donald Trump was right on TikTok years ago," he said on the trip, according to the Sydney Morning Herald. While president, Trump attempted to ban the app outright but later pivoted, opting for a partial sale of the firm's American assets to a U.S. company, which ultimately fell through amid a bevy of legal obstacles.
"If your country uses Huawei, if your kids are on TikTok, if your population uses WeChat as a social media platform, the ability for China to have undue influence is, I think, a much greater challenge and a much more immediate threat than any kind of actual, armed conflict," Warner continued. "China having this kind of technology domination in a number of countries ought to scare the heck out of us because we’ve seen the kind of Orwellian surveillance state they've already created within China."

Mark Warner serves as the Chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee. He is also a member of the “Gang of 8” in the Congress and receives the highest level intelligence briefings from the bureaucrats running the intelligence agencies. It is not accidental, or coincidental, he and Marco Rubio (GOP minority lead on the Senate Intelligence Committee) called for an investigation of Tik Tok by the FTC in July 2022 and Warner is now admitting Trump was right on Tik Tok.
Notably Warner was silent when Joe Biden reversed Trump’s ban of Tik Tok in July 2021, even though Warner was then serving as Chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee. If the United States had an aggressive free press, reporters would be asking Biden and Warner what changed to caused Biden to overturn Trump’s ban and what has now changed to make them concerned. Is this policy change due to a failure of the intelligence agencies or is it a political decision based on other factors? Instead the press is silent regarding the background issues.
Warner is a close friend of retiring GOP Senator Richard Burr who was Chairman of the Senate Intelligence committee during the first two years of Trump’s presidency (when the GOP was in the majority) and then Vice Chairman during Trump’s last two years (Warner was Chairman) until it became public he (Burr) was being investigated for insider training at which time Burr stepped down and Marco Rubio assumed the role of Vice Chairman. News reports indicated Burr sold stock based on confidential information he receive about Covid as Chairman of the Intelligence Committee, before the information became public a few days later when the market price of the stocks Burr sold collapsed.
Burr as Chairman of the Committee took great pride in managing the committee. with Warner, in a bipartisan manner. Some conservative commentators suggested Burr deferred to Warner often. During the Mueller investigation the Burr/Warner led Senate Intelligence Committee did not aggressively pursue information suggesting malfeasance of the intelligence agencies and DOJ in pushing the Russia collusion charges against Trump.
Notably the DOJ investigation of Burr for insider trading was dropped in January 2021. Less than a month later Burr was one of seven GOP Senators who voted in the Senate to convict Donald Trump in the second impeachment trial, despite the fact the state he represented went for Trump in the 2020 election. Coincidence?
As a member of the Gang of 8, Warner is one of the most powerful people inside the beltway and member of the deep state. A 180 degree change in his position regarding Tik Tok could be a signal of more things to come with respect to Biden Administration China policy.

Radio Free Asia (RFA) published an article explaining the reason that the U.S. closed China’s Consulate in Houston.
The article stated that the U.S. has known that the staff members at the consulate were conducting suspicious activities, but, for a while, it did not take any action. The Second Department of China’s People’s Liberation Army (PLA), which is the PLA’s intelligence unit, sent staff members from a large network company, with fake IDs, to China’s Consulate in Houston. Those technicians used a large video platform’s backend data to identify people who might participate in the Black Lives Matter (BLM) and ANTIFA’s protests and then created and sent them customized videos on how to organize riots and how to do promotions.
The purpose was to “weaponize” big data technology. It delivered relevant materials precisely to those people who were most likely to participate in the protests, while other people could not even find those videos.
RFA did not spell out the company names. A Twitter account said the technicians were from Huawei and the video platform they used to identify candidates and push videos to was TikTok.
The CCP were behind the Black Live Matter and ANTIFA riots.
