Less than two-thirds of respondents said they think transgenderism is on the rise because children feel like they can come out without being judged.
t Americans feel that children are being "influenced" to come out as transgender and even more Americans said they believe the transgender movement has gone too far by "encouraging" children to medically change their sex, according to a poll released Tuesday.
While 27% of likely general election voters said they think transgenderism is rising amongst minors because they feel they can change their gender without being judged, 59% said minors are changing their sex due to social media and cultural influences, a McLaughlin and Associates/Summit Ministries poll shows.
Studies have found that the number of young Americans who identify as transgender is nearly three times that of older generations. Meanwhile, more than one-in-five young adults identify as LGBT, a Gallup poll earlier this year showed.
When asked whether the transgender movement has "gone too far by encouraging underage minors to use drugs and surgery to transition to the opposite sex," 65% of respondents said "yes" and 21% said "no."
The survey of 1,000 likely general election voters was conducted from Oct. 12-17 and has a margin of error of 3.1%.

Transgenderism is a result of groomerism
Hence the term “groomers.”
It’s wrong, these are crimes against our children and we want it stopped.
I feel this is a big issue that most parents can agree on.
Hey teachers... Be perverts if you must, but LEAVE THE KIDS OUT OF IT!
People were warning even back in the 60s that if homosexuality were allowed to flourish, then soon they’d be going after the children, well here we are.
They want to be someone else, and honestly, with some of them, I understand their desire to be anyone but who they are.
The problem is that you can not be anyone but yourself.
Sure you can make changes, learn new skills, adopt a different life style but in the end you are still you.
You have to learn to accept that and deal with it.
The problem is now people are making money on making the issue worse rather then helping people to accept themselves.
Their message is "you are right to hate yourself, there is something horribly wrong with you. Let me fix you physically so your body is just as screwed up as your emotions."
Talk about an evil thing to do.
They are doing this at the same time they are telling people that being obese is also natural and healthy. Even beautiful.
It is the same sort of thing. A total rejection of normalicy.
Munchausen’s by proxy.
“transgender movement has gone too far”...
Too far? It never should have happened at all!
Grooming. It’s called grooming.
That’s a big part of it, and kids are especially vulnerable to this.
All you have to do in the T community to be accepted is come up with a non-binary identity, the more bizarre the better, and believe it. The weirder you are, the more popular and more of a victim you are. That’s the only price of admission.
I was a lot like those kids. No real friends, hitting puberty early and being a heavy-set tomboy of a girl made me wish I could be a boy. It was okay for boys to be chubby, and they didn’t have menstrual cramping. I’m sure I’d have fallen prey to this crap.
I hated my body, but most kids do at some point. There’s bo doubt that this is a fad, like bisexuality when I was in middle school and high school. It really screwed over those of us who actually are - we never knew who to believe, and it’s the same here. The very few kids with proper dysphoria need treatment, and all of this transgenderist grooming is messing it up for them.
When you were a kid and there always was one kid that liked to pull one wing off a butterfly it’s the same one that grew up to influenced kids to be trans and abortionists.
