Turkey prices are set to gobble up a bigger part of family budgets this Thanksgiving.
Farmers are grappling with inflation, drought, and avian flu, which could drive prices higher as Thanksgiving approaches, Fox Weather reported Thursday.
“There’s [sic] appears to be still some hangover from the avian influenza outbreaks that we had this spring, so total turkey production is down, and as a result, wholesale prices are up,” Purdue Univerity’s Dr. Jayson Lusk, who is a professor and head of the agricultural economics department, told Fox.

The diaper wearing turkey in the White House did this

We can just shoot our own here. We’ve had to wait on our own driveway for a dozen or more turkeys to cross. The white meat is the best while the dark is really tough and good for soups and stuff.

Around here (and we don't lack for turkeys) the turkey prices went up a couple months ago. Seasonal pressure adds to already soaring diesel prices.

I checked about a week ago, and turkeys were going for $1.88/lb at Walmart with more than a month to go before Thanksgiving. We’ll have something else this year, maybe a pork roast.

Please, do not blame Brandon for this. He and his actions have absolutely nothing to do with the rise in prices. The real culprits are, in no particular order, Putin!, Big Turkey, the policies of ‘that other guy’, greedy grocery stores, Republicans in Congress, etc., etc.

Some supermarkets give frozen turkeys away free, if you spend a certain amount in the month or so before Thanksgiving. We’ve gotten a free one a couple of years, now.

I think it’s the same as last year, here; and you have about 6 weeks to do it. Not a good deal for a single person or perhaps for two, but might be useful for a family.

People are so lame that they can’t go get the free turkeys that walk around their own neighborhoods.
