Val Demings Says It’s Harder To Be a Politician Than a Police Officer Florida Dem Senate nominee has centered her campaign on her ex-cop status
It's much harder to be a politician than a police officer—at least if you ask Florida's Democratic Senate candidate Val Demings.
"You know, after 27 years as a law enforcement officer, there's no doubt that's a tough job, that's a hard job, no doubt about it," said Demings, a former Orlando police chief. "But being in elected office—that's a whole ‘nother level, y'all."
Demings's remarks came at a rally Saturday in Pensacola and are likely to anger Florida's law enforcement community, particularly given that Demings enjoys an array of perks as a congresswoman that she did not receive as a police officer.

No comment necessary.
Easier to get a pass when a weapon is stolen out of your Tahoe when you’re the chief of police though. 🤔
Well, she could be right, if you are a politician, you can’t shoot or tase people who don’t follow your order and fight back.
Depends on the sense in which it is applied.
Intellectually more difficult?
Sure. I remember reading a number of years ago how police departments would give something like an intelligence test and not hire someone who scored too high, because that meant they’d likely get bored and quit before the cost of their training had been recouped.
I only did 24 years as an LEO, but I think Ms. Demings is full of Schiff.
She has too much hate in her heart to have any job serving the public.

Even the easiest of tasks are hard for this moron...
Yes
Don’t know about that. Hershel Walker claims he can be both.
Then he doesn’t have what it takes to be either and should get out of the business.
For Val Demings, and for most democrat congress-members, being a congresswoman/congressman, was/is a lot simpler than any other job. Since she was a 100% Nancy Pelosi lackey, all she had to do was sit at home and do nothing, while her vote for any bill or any decision, was assumed to be ‘yes’ with the speaker’s decision.
If Pelosi ever called Demings, it would have been to see if Val was still alive.
Yes, being a politician with the perks and special treatment is much more dangerous and has much worse shifts than being a police officer /s
What a turd.
i watched her debate with Rubio...she was pathetic...didn’t know anything....just spewing talking points at a LOUD level. Why they so dam LOUD!!??....geez.
Of course she is. I was never an LEO, but you don’t have to be a rocket scientist to look at that job and realize, especially today, it is a sucky, hazardous, and reward-less job.
My guess is, as demonized at the police have become, the very kind of people you DON’T want holding the job are the very ones who flock to it.
Affirmative action is hard!
She’s running a horrible campaign. I live in central Florida and never hear of her. I’m glad of course. Rubio will win this easily.
I’ll bet she wasn’t worth a shyte as a police officer! Some people hide and skate and never get into the grease. I’ll bet she rolled-around all day and did nothing but write reports. She relied on the male officers to do all the fighting and taking suspects into custody! She couldn’t make pimple on policeman’s ass! What worthless dreck sau!
Considering the long periods of mindless boredom and the endless petty tyranizing organizational politics that one has to endure as a LEO that would appear to be a sensible approach.
