A Republican running for a seat in the Arizona Legislature is facing criticism after two pictures that appeared to show her in blackface and brownface surfaced with just a few weeks to go before the midterm elections.
The two photographs released on social media are believed to show Mary Ann Mendoza, a Republican, dressed in an "Aunt Jemima" costume with blackface and dressed as the Native American figure Pocahontas with her face painted brown.
The Washington Examiner has not been able to verify the photos independently, but Mendoza's political opponents have already used them to paint Mendoza as a racist.
Democratic candidate Lorena Austin said in a statement that the "hate-filled" pictures should disqualify Mendoza from running.
"Frankly, it's racist rhetoric that is very harmful to communities that reside right here in Mesa," she said.

Yep!
Ok, so, when a gop pol does it, it’s bad.
The warning label on the photos is typical PC BS, as if someone is going to burst into tears seeing those photos.
Great movie, both of 'em.
AZ Gov candidate Hobbs(D) has been convicted of being a racist, twice and played the part of ‘Master’ on ‘Slave Day’ in HS. The black faced GOP candidate should compare herself to that.
So what? Biden meets the ultra creepy 25 year old man who “self-identifies” as a little girl and plays out every dumb bimbo, idiotic, neurotic and negative female stereotype possible. This “girl face” is just as bad as “black face,” if not far worse.

When Obama was president, I saw a guy wearing a Sasquatch costume for Halloween and Michelle Obama didn’t make a big deal of it.
When are these same people going to clamor for The View to remove Joy Behar for the same reason?
Exactly. She wasn’t “appropriating” Aunt Jemima or Pocahontas, she WAS them. Prove otherwise, woke libs.
if she’s Hispanic wouldn’t brownface be her own face? Maybe she’s a white Hispanic like Zimmerman.
Remember, folks, the liberals made this s**t possible!
It was strictly a commemorative thing with deep study and accurate dances from various tribes.
But as true as were were to the Native American spirit and our reverence to their culture, we did wear full body and face makeup.
We are the same age.
Grew up in a south side Chicago suburb which as all white but my Grandparents lived about 20 minutes away in a bi- later tri-racial area. (I was born at the same hospital as Michael Jackson. My only claim to fame!!)
Next to my Grandparents house was a playground. (Actually, it was an empty lot but my Grandfather would mow it every week so the neighborhood kids had a place to play. The houses in the area were all 2 story apartments with no back yards.)
Every Sunday we would go to their house for lunch. After lunch my black and white friends would come over to play. (”Kick the can “ was a biggy.)
When I heard MLK talking about judging people by the content of their character, I thought “HUH. Who doesn’t???”
My friends were nice and fun. And they liked the same cartoons and cereal that I did!!
A few years after that, the first black family moved into my town. Someone threw a molotov cocktail into their living room window.
Well we were German and it made more sense to me that because of WWII they would attack us.
I actually immediately started to avoid our living room window until my dad noticed and gave me a talk and calmed me down.
(I became friends with the girl whose house was attacked. (We both had a crush on Davy Jones!))
Then I learned about racism. All I could phantom is that these people were just sick and they are bringing back this sickness now. Beyond disgusting and immoral.
ROFL!!!
Another tack. Dress up as Aunt Jemima, but say you are a transgendered Uncle Ben! Watch them choke on that one!

LOL! Libs would blow a fuse for sure.
I think we can all thank Obama for screwing up race relations.
“stop looking at me!!!!”
So?
I saw a bunch of black people pretending to be white people in Hamilton.
Grow up
The Indian costume looks pretty good. I am part Cherokee and I have no problem with it.
The aunt jemima costume is stupid. Never understood or liked blackface. Just like I hate clowns. Too much ridiculous makeup.
The precursor to White Christmas.
