Almost 1.5 million Ukrainians were left without power after Russia unleashed a volley of cruise missiles on Saturday—the latest salvo in a campaign to deprive the country of heat and light as winter sets in.
Officials in Kyiv say the recent attacks, which have damaged nearly a third of the country’s energy infrastructure, seek to undermine Ukrainians’ will to fight and provoke a humanitarian crisis. There were power outages in more than 10 regions of Ukraine as a result of Saturday’s attack, which energy-grid operator Ukrenergo said was one of the most destructive to date.

In a rare pessimistic take on the war effort, the commander of the Russian Armed Forces in Ukraine acknowledged last week that Moscow’s position in the southern Kherson region was tenuous. He said “difficult decisions” might have to be taken, without elaborating.
The recently appointed Gen. Sergei Surovikin said Ukraine had damaged the main bridge used to supply Russian forces in Kherson and a crossing over a dam to the northeast. The priority now is to preserve civilians and military personnel, he said.
Just 33 missiles put 1.5 million Ukrainians in the dark. Smells like victory for the Ukrainians!
population of Ukraine = 41 million
1.5 / 41 = less than 4% of the population affected
so, 96% were unaffected
Ukraine will survive this
Video of the Russian general explaining the situation:

Russia is just trying to help the Ukes lower their carbon footprint. Its for the health of the planet.
Yeah…”explaining”.
Like Baghdad Bob did.
Smells like Russia is targeting civilian targets again.
They;ve not done so well against military engagements.
You are spewing fake UN and Government figures
Ukraine had @50+ million when it left the Soviet Union
Outward migration has been at least 500K per year
It has historically had the lowest birth rate in Europe, and its been dropping even faster recently. Its death rate has consistently been the highest
The last census the country attempted was in 2001
6-7 million left the country when the Russian invasion began
Russia now controls another 8-10 million
Ukraine is down to 20 million, or less. Its disappearing as a country.
LOL, at least your honest, when you say 'control'
Sounds like a Obama appointed General.

I don’t think this website is completely accurate, but you don’t even provide any source material. Can you back up your claim?
If russia thinks this will make the ukranians give up they will be greatly mistakem.
knew you’d come up with some desperate lies, as soon as it was pointed out that the Russian attacks really are only pinpricks
LOL
No. I have not conducted a complete census of Ukraine - NOR HAS ANYONE ELSE. And UN, Ukraine and other "expert" information is not backed up by anything either, and moreover, it contradicts itself.
Take claims made by MSM and governments in other specific areas such as refugees into Western Europe, population of Donbas, fertility rates, death rates, and you can immediately see your "this-google-search-told-me-so" information of 43 million is just propaganda / nonsense.
One has to use inductive logic, my FRriend.
And I knew you would come up with some pointless, factless, logic-free slur
Thanks for playing along.
“ One has to use inductive logic, my FRriend.”
Mine says the truth lies between your estimate and theirs.

What he was alluding to is the continuing attempts by the Ukrainian military to destroy a major dam in the area that would cause mass flooding. This is one of the reasons that they are evacuating civilians from the area.
Neither the Americans, Russians nor Taliban blew up the dams in Afghanistan, despite 50 years of war.
Did the USA blow up dams in Iraq? No. We were concerned with preserving them.
Did ISIS blow them up, or threaten to? Yes! They did!
Another example of the nature of the Ukraine military. (Which also attacked the nuke plant held by the Russians repeatedly, and are threatening it again)
Everything is a military engagement in war. People are now arguing about the destruction of power facilities but since they are dual use the civilians will have to suffer. Russia is working tirelessly to destroy rail lines, electric facilities and substantions. It is going to be cold not only in western Ukraine but Poland and Germany as well since they bought electricity from the Uke’s. Ukraine will have to decide how to care for her population and as such is not going to wage as many offensive operations once the power goes out.
Russia may decide once that dam goes to stop the hands off approach to infrastructure and really hammer Ukraine ensuring they are rebuilt from the stoneage.
“Everything is a military engagement in war.”
There’s been a progression in the perceptions and expectations of this war.
Initially 2-3 weeks and Kiev falls.
Then Russia’s air and missile attacks will destroy opposition.
Now?
Hitting civilian targets to hurt them for winter.
When this started no one would have predicted Russia would be at this point of low expectations and brutal tactics.
