WASHINGTON, October 22. /TASS/. The US Army's 101st Airborne Division is ready to enter Ukraine in case of further tensions between Moscow and Kiev or an attack on a NATO member state, CBS News reported, citing the division’s command staff.

"We're ready to defend every inch of NATO soil," the division's Deputy Commander Brigadier General John Lubas said, as cited by the media outlet. Commander of the 2nd Brigade Combat Team Colonel Edwin Matthaidess, in turn, noted that his troops, deployed to Romania, have been "closely watching" the Russian forces, "building objectives to practice against" and conducting drills that "replicate exactly what's going on" in the war.

"In all, about 4,700 soldiers from the 101st Airborne's home base in Fort Campbell, Kentucky, have been deployed to reinforce NATO's eastern flank," CBS News noted.

"The commanders told CBS News repeatedly that they are always ‘ready to fight tonight,’ and while they're there to defend NATO territory, if the fighting escalates or there's any attack on NATO, they're fully prepared to cross the border into Ukraine," the media outlet added.

It’s called prudent planning and training.

When the Ruskies invaded Prague in 68, we actually mobilized a brigade, I think of the 82nd, to immediately go to Europe. We already had circa 400K troops in SE Asia. What the brass was expecting a few thousand to do to combat the Ruskies on their almost home turf was naive in my view. This current one is pure crazy.

One thing the Ruskie invasion accomplished for me was my orders to South East Asia was changed to reassignment to Conus.

What treaty requires the US to go to all out nuclear war footing over this? The Russians NEVER attacked NATO or the US. Have you been smoking Hillary’s Russia, Russia, Russia stash again? And don’t give me the world policeman rigmarole. The corrupt, worthless US world policeman just deserted the Kurds and women of Afghanistan.

The US (Obama/Biden/Soros) violently overthrew the elected Ukraine govt in 2014.

That's a lie.

This particular US military endeavor, or whatever we want to call it, literally on the opposite side of planet earth, will be modeled after recent success stories of such efforts, of which there are no examples.

“So, we begin an intense WAR on Nov. 3rd..and will need to cancel elections because of a National Crisis”?

It would not be surprising. They won’t give up their control and power easily.

Nobody questions yours. You’re loyal to Biden, Zelinsky, Hillary, Graham and the Galician nazi lovers. They appreciate how you can be lead around by the nose by making you think it’s 1968. They laugh at guys like you in DC.

“Lunacy. Refighting the WWII eastern front battles with our guys in the Nazi role, with minimal artillery and armor. Our MBA JFK school of government generals at their best again”.

And winter is brutal in Ukraine.

and while they’re there to defend NATO territory, if the fighting escalates or there’s any attack on NATO, they’re fully prepared to cross the border into Ukraine

TASS is using quotation marks to infer that the US commander stated that we are ready to cross the border. In the original article there are no quotation marks around that statement and it is clear that those are the reporters words, not the US commander’s.

You’re the one who should look at history. Look at what a pantheon of US cold warriors have said over the last 25 years about the eastern expansion of NATO and Ukraine. There’s probably a half hour of reading here:

Putin needs to leave all occupied territories and then face war crime trial. Russian then must pay restitution to Ukraine.

You are as usual being weird, because, of course, you are a looney.

This is an exercise, like dozens that have come before it.

It is moreover an alliance exercise, which is the whole point of it. Its about working with the local Nato ally, and other allies that are also participating to one degree or another.

Here is some fairly detailed info on a 2020 exercise involving the 2nd Cavalry -

https://armyrecognition.com/june_2020_news_defense_global_security_army_industry/military_exercise_in_poland_for_us_troops_an_polish_15th_mechanized_brigade.html

This one is more of the same.

Yeah,

The MSM twists things, extrapolates into the realm of insanity, speculates to the point of ridiculous, and then provides their editorial opinions on that junk they peddle off and news.

When in Iraq CNN ran a huge story about an explosion in Baghdad that happened to have been in my sector. They speculated that it was a bomb, or a rocket... Turns out it was an improvised gas station (common at that time 2004) that went up in flames.

The MSM is just junk. An endless drivel of garbage. You can watch the “news” 8 hours straight and you will not walk away with any information that will help you in any aspect of your life nor help you understand the world around you. It’s basically just commercials, commercials that are pretending to be news (the new iphone is out, Disney has a new ride, Ford a new truck), and political advertising for the Democrats.

For real, ask yourself after 8 hours of news, “what have I gained from watching this that should impact my decision making on health care, finances, parenting, travels, career, family, education, retirement, security...?”. There is ZERO actionable information in what we call the news because all they are doing is selling.
