Dallas, Texas, man was arrested Thursday for allegedly shooting a 21-year-old woman to death for beating him at a game of basketball on October 3, 2022.
FOX 4 described the game as a “heated” competition in T.G. Terry Park, in which 21-year-old Asia Womack beat 31-year-old Cameron Hogg.
MSN.com reported that Hogg allegedly drove his brother and children home after the loss, then drove back to find Womack. After finding her he allegedly shot her five times, killing her.
A warrant for Hogg was issued on October 11, and he was arrested on October 20.
NBC 5 spoke with Womack’s aunt Juanita Smith, who said, “We’re taking it kind of hard because it was senseless.”
Smith added, “I just don’t understand why you kill somebody over a basketball game.”
FOX 4 indicated Hogg has a criminal history which includes “charges [that] range from robbery to family violence and aggravated assault.”

The usual story: A feral animal with a long rap sheet who should have been in prison or six feet under in a potter’s field instead of on the street.
I wonder if all the “people of color” crimes were subtracted from the yearly totals what the crime rate in the US would then be.
He’ll probably get 12 yrs for manslaughter then only do about 6 yrs total. Her life gets thrown away over nothing. this guy’s going to be a crime problem his entire life.

We need the death penalty back. Too many know they will never pay the ultimate price for their actions and it allows for too much recidivism.
The death penalty protects society from those who would destroy it.
They would be like Europes crime rates, maybe a wee bit worse.

There’s a very small percentage of the population that is highly aggressive. According to Jordon Peterson, this is behavior that goes back to early childhood. Peterson’s perspective isn’t some leftist mantra of toxic masculinity, so don’t get the wrong idea. Peterson basically says there is no successful method to change highly aggressive personalities. I draw from that these people cannot be reformed in prison. There is a very high probability that when released from prison they will offend again. The one thing that does seem to work is simply getting too old to be violent.
Seems like violent offenders need first sentences that are long enough for them to get too old to be violent.
