He’ll probably get 12 yrs for manslaughter then only do about 6 yrs total. Her life gets thrown away over nothing. this guy’s going to be a crime problem his entire life.

That sounds more like first degree murder to me, since he went out of his way to do it. Second degree murder if he'd killed her on the spot.
Just recently, in Austin, a judge APPROVED a plea bargain letting another brother off (who also couldn’t control himself with his woman) with no jailtime and the prospect of having his record expunged for murdering an unborn baby. The mother, though hospitalized, survived the beating.
