Well, so was Elizabeth I and she accorded herself rather well as a Tudor. Mary and Elizabeth had different mothers. Maybe father wasn’t the issue???

If he goes then it's Kamala, heaven help us.True, let's just say we are in gig heap trouble. Even with a GOP House and Senate we have McCarthy and McConnell leading, which isn't comforting. Good bright people don't get involved in political office because it's simply not worth the trouble if you are honest and want to serve and not cash in like most pols.

>>>Bring back Winston Churchill.<<<
The Brits didn’t really want him in the first place. And he was voted out of office by the public in July 1945. If I recall he was at Yalta with Roosevelt and Stalin when it occurred. The British population rewards success in a funny way. However Churchill did regain his position as PM in 1951 and kept it through 1955. Cheers.

There is still Hapsburg blood on the Throne of “Merry Old”.
May it swing like a pendulum do.

Does she get a full pension? If so I’ll take a swing at the job for 6 weeks! I’ve been married for almost 50 years, six weeks is nothing......

In the British first past the post election system smaller parties like UKIP have very little to no chance of making a real difference.
Besides Nigel Farage is not associated with UKIP anymore and the party isn’t even relevant at this point.
Labor is going to win big in the next election if for no other reason than people getting sick of the Torries and wanting something different even if the something different will be worse.

Well I didn't expect her to be much more than a book marker - but this quick says perhaps they are ready to move on from her sooner rather than later.

They voted the Conservatives out, not Churchill. It’s not like a Presidential election, if it had been Churchill versus Atlee, Churchill would have won easily.
But the Tories, had nothing going for them in 1945, other than Churchill. Labour had a plan for the Post-War, and ran an excellent campaign.
But of course, Labour failed, and Churchill was back in 1950.

Maybe she’s giving up due to an upcoming reckless covert or clandestine offensive that top elements of NATO, Biden, and the west’s deep state have planned against Putin. UK’s Def Sec flew to the Pentagon just last night, I believe.
