Several of those arrested as part of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis' "opening salvo" on his Office of Election Crimes and Security fraud appeared to have no idea why they were being arrested and seemed to be unaware that they were being accused of violating state law when they voted...

Florida ping Joe.
Law? Laws are for whitebreads.
where’s the confusion...don’t tell me they didn’t know...find out who put these “good americans” to do mischief. bet they hadn’t voted in years.

OF EVERY "IMPORT" BOTH LEGAL AND ILLEGAL HAVE COME THROUGH THE PUBLIC SCHOOL SYSTEM
I do have sympathy for those who told DMV employees they were ineligible and were pressured to still register. The DMV employees should be the ones in jail.
Ignorance of the law is no excuse.
So, lawbreakers should only be arrested when they look like they were aware they violated the law?
At trial, ignorance of the law is no excuse. For an arrest, the suspect’s awareness of the law or the lack thereof is completely irrelevant.
Why are you arresting me now? I’ve been doing this for 20 years! Hence the confusion.
I think the real story here is that for the very first time in history we see people being arrested who deny the crime or knowing anything about the crime or the law. Wow, I never saw that coming! Clearly CBS is in the vanguard of journalists for helping to expose this previously unheard of response from the arrested and accused.
I am in awe of these jounalistic titans!
Tough crap. MSM trying to tug at leftist heart strings with body cam footage of poor convicted felons being ‘arrested’ for something they didn’t suspect. Imagine that.
There’s no confusion on the law. While Florida 2018 law does allow some convicted felons to vote after they have finished their sentences, it DOES NOT allow for voting for those convicted of murder or felony sex offenses. BOTH body cam arrestees met that distinction. Ignorance of the law is no excuse.
Democrats will put unsuspecting and legally-unaware abortion protestors in jail in a heartbeat for ‘obstructing access’ to clinics at the drop of a hat. This is no different.
No sympathies. Arrest them all. Great Job Ron!
They may not have known “they” voted twice. Someone used my credit card # in Penn. on election day even though I never went there. I am curious to know if “I” voted there too. I figure “I” bought pizza or cigarettes for brandon voters. This just shows what a disaster the 2020 election was and why we need secure polls with voter ID and verified signatures.
Indeed never saw an undercover cop with a badge on his shirt while on duty.
In some cases I think there should be intent. However it seems that most of these people knew it was wrong and then took some bad advice without verifying.
I once innocently “stole” a car back in prehistoric days before keyfobs and such.
Ran out of the store and hopped into my Chevy. Started it up and went to back out. That’s when I saw bags in the back seat, looked around and realized it wasn’t my car. My near identical car was an aisle over.
Confusion? What confusion?
If you are a felon you can’t vote, and if you voted you committed a crime.
And the person that convinced you to do that crime, or the organization that did.... Also committed a crime.
