U.S. and Mexico officials told the United Nations Monday both countries stand ready to intervene in the dire humanitarian crisis crippling Haiti with civil unrest sparked by gang violence, widespread famine, and a cholera outbreak.

The nation’s economy has tanked since gangs blocked a major fuel terminal last month, which has forced the closure of businesses and hospitals, according to The Guardian. As a result, U.N. officials warned that about five million Haitian citizens could face catastrophic famine.

Haitian citizens told Al Jeezera that previous international support failed to bring a resolution, and have called on the resignation of Prime Minister Henry, who has been the country’s 12th leader since a 7.0 magnitude earthquake decimated the country and killed about 220,000 people in 2010.

The Haitian people have been abused over and over by foreign groups.
are they going to intervene in the dire humanitarian crisis in America’s cities due to Democrat policies?
Bulldoze the island. Move the population to africa. Let the Dominican Republic take over.
“Intervene In Haitian Humanitarian Crisis”
AGAIN???
The US should be invading Mexico to destroy the cartels killing Americans with fentanyl. Of course that will not happen because the corrupt leaders of both Mexico and America are on the take from the murderous cartels
America should save a few precision drones for making precision strikes on cartel leaders where they live and drive.
Since the DOJ here has done such a great job protecting our rights and keeping crime at bay, why not intervene somewhere else??? . What nonsenses!
HA.!! Now that's funny..! What are they going to do, tell the Haitian citizens to set down, shut-up, and take your Fentanyl.! That's pretty much what O'Biden is telling the USA.... (spit)
Hati is a Black nation and is irredeemable

Seems as though this represents an allegory for the fossil fuel crisis tripped by Biden on his first day in office. The Great Reset gang is blocking fossil fuel and causing all manner of economic woes.
My church, presbytery and denomination supports a 6 church group that have become part of our denomination. We help with money and mission groups to build facilities, training and hot lunch programs. They are located away from the cities. They are scared and supplies are starting to dwindle. They are on the verge of hunger.
Gangs started their dirty work in the cities, but are now moving out into the countryside. The people we help are essentially defenseless. I recently read where the Dominican Republic is building a wall to keep Haitians out. This kind of mess is what you get with many years of ultra-corrupt government. Before we get too uppity, I think our government in this country has become utterly corrupt, also. Thanks to the presstitutes, they have done a pretty good job of hiding, or explaining away, their corruption. Time to push back forcefully before we become Haiti. Before you laugh, step back and look. A look at the right places reveals that the corruption is beyond obvious in certain places (Commie Rat run cities and Kalifornia).
Luxury buses with direct routes to El Paso?
You mean Haiti, with an all black population and no oppressing racist, white supremacists, is not Wakanda?
One of the problem is that all the aid and sending doctors down there, undercuts the ability of Haiti to build their own infrastructure. Who can compete with free food and free doctors? So nobody is encouraged to study to become a doctor, or grow their own food. So they are permanently dependent on foreign aid.
Wonder who is paying the gangs?
Chelsea needs another wedding dress.
The Mexican cartels will now double the price to smuggle Haitians into the US.

It is mired in corruption at every level of government. Every village has multiple levels of leadership and generally, most if not all, are corrupt. They also collectively blame every other country, including the US, for their ongoing problems. It’s horribly polluted and nasty but they have no official sanitation set ups. No official postal system yet everyone gets a phone.
Back when I worked for a nonprofit that directly supported another nonprofit in Haiti, we found shoes that were sturdy, comfortable, and could be adjusted to grow with children’s feet for 4 sizes. Donors loved the idea and sent money for the shoes. We sent down a lot of shoes to the in-country nonprofit which at the time, was running a school. The shoes were free to those kids. But, the school admin and teachers didn’t want the children to wear them because they weren’t completely closed toed shoes. Not dressy enough. Okay, great idea. Don’t let the kids going barefoot wear free shoes because the shoes aren’t good enough. Oh and no school attendance if the kids aren’t properly attired. So the school instead had to buy “proper” shoes for the students.
My opinion is that Haiti should be left alone, to rise or fall completely, without any more involvement from other countries. If a country wants to help, it should be on a cash basis. No money or benefits? Sorry, no can do. The Dominican Republic has the right idea with the border wall.

“The people we help are essentially defenseless.”
Find a way to arm them or get out.

I think there may be some truth to that. But more fundamentally, government corruption negates the incentive for people to start businesses or for light industry to locate there. The countryside, as I understand it, has few trees because the residents cut them to raise a few paltry dollars. That is what makes hurricanes so devastating to Haiti. Why would a doctor train if everybody is too poor to pay for his services? While there are cultural issues at work, I think the main culprit is corrupt government.
