Some risks too big: Insurers withdraw from fossil projects
The Associated Press ^ | October 18, 2022

BERLIN (AP) — Insurance companies that have long said they’ll cover anything, at the right price, are increasingly ruling out fossil fuel projects because of climate change — to cheers from environmental campaigners.

More than a dozen groups that track what policies insurers have on high-emissions activities say the industry is turning its back on oil, gas and coal.

The alliance, Insure Our Future, said Wednesday that 62% of reinsurance companies — which help other insurers spread their risks — have plans to stop covering coal projects, while 38% are now excluding some oil and natural gas projects.

In part, investors are demanding it. But insurers have also begun to make the link between fossil fuel infrastructure, such as mines and pipelines, and the impact that greenhouse gas emissions are having on other parts of their business.

This includes extreme weather events such as hurricanes, which are forecast to become more potent with global warming. Hurricane Ian recently caused tens of billions of dollars in damage in the United States.

Remember, folks. Leftists never win at the ballot box. They win using pressure in other areas and by using corrupt communist judges.

Oldeconomybuyer, you individually may not have the answer to my rhetorical question either, but I’m just throwing it out here for discussion;

How can this ever be reversed? Would one have to remove any insurance corporation board of directors who are voting to approve of refusal to insure fossil projects?
Are such drilling companies able to self-insure, or is it cost prohibitive? I would think this strategy cannot be let to continue. This ruinous attitude may be as embedded in some corps as
CRT is in some school systems.

I am sure that the one percenters will be still flying around to vacation houses and vacations for many years to come while the rest scramble to gather the basics of life.

Bastardi spent about 20 minutes in his saturday summary debunking that BS.

Just means more profits for the insurance companies that will cover those projects.

This is part of the ESG campaign to coerce corporations to do the regime’s bidding. Without insurability there is no way for energy corporations to finance operations.

Fascism is the binding together of the state, the banks, the capital, and labor all under the control of the regime. It has arrived on our doorstep here in the US.

The EU is in the midst of an unforeseen green reset. The Great Reset is bringing the West to her economic knees. Those people in power are forcing this upon the masses worldwide. Trump was the road block to implementation and everything Trump did was overturned by Biden his first day. It was thought that the USA alone would suffer from Biden’s efforts to squeeze four positive years of economic progress by the USA under Trump; Biden sought to bring the USA back down to the economicl levels of 2016 in order to match the EU and all those treaties and plans they had.

I wonder if Trump could make a case for arrest of everyone involved in destroying the USA (and the world by extension) energy and food sectors. Arresting all those responsible for the unreasonable misery people are suffering should be easy. Everyone elected to public office has a clause “for the common good” and nowhere are they given the right(s) to disobey laws, or treat one group of people better or worst than others, to wit: the lock up and prosecution of conservatives for any reason, but J6 stands out as an exhibit of elected officials failure to uphold the office to which elected.

Since these people are complicit not only in destroying energy and energy sectors, they are complicit in forcing Wars for no reason. The woke may have played a game called Risk growing up, but it is not acceptable to seek the breakup of the Russian Federation by force of arms. We are at peace.

People like Pelosi, Gates, Soros, and those aligning with the DNC to hoodwink Americans such as the owners of Facebook and Twitter all need to executed. They are commiting crimes against humanity.

Yes, it's FAR better to insure those low-risk renewable energy projects.

That’s the fallacy they believe. If companies don’t have huge middle-class markets, innovation and production will collapse. The elites won’t get all the cool toys they adore if there is no mass market supporting production for the masses. Toys for the elites all have their origins and supports in the mass market.

Climate Change Radicals are already doing more global damage than actual climate change (if indeed there is any) can ever do in the next 500 years.

But that's a feature, not a bug.

Never forget that the whole "CO2 global warming" scam was invented by the neo-Malthusian Club of Rome as a tool to force a drastic die-off of human populations. This is only the beginning. Ultimately, YOU are the carbon they want to reduce.

Meanwhile, trust the climate oligarchs to find private profit in public policy.
