China makes 95% of all antibiotics and 100% of all penicillin used in America.

I am sure there will be no consequences.

I could be wrong, but I believe FDR imposed some economic rules on Japan which effectively crippled their economy. Just bout 6 months before Pearl Harbor.

So the biggest US patsy for the Chinese is just NOW getting tough on them?

Why, you’d almost suspect that there’s an election coming up and his new “get tough on China” is yet another way to buy votes.

He’s not going to like it when the Chinese send him an emissary requesting a $250 million refund. As they say, “there’s nothing worse than a politician who won’t stay bought.” After all, “Nobody F$%Ks with a Biden.”

The US government's new export controls are wreaking havoc on China's chip industry

What critical chip technology does the US export to China?
The US itself IMPORTS almost all their very high end chips from Taiwan anyways, including chips for the F22 etc.

Strom is a moron...

Biden has struck the same idiotic blow that FDR struck against the japs...

We know how FDR’s move turned out...
Exactly as he wanted...
The U.S. gets into the war with Germany to help protect his cabinet’s philosophical friends, the Soviets...

Something that would not have happened if he had left the japs alone, since the overwhelming public opinion was that the war with Germany was none of our business...

The Chinese have spies at most leading technical companies.

The Chinese might be delayed a year or two, but they’ll be mad for much longer.

Biden Administration strikes huge blow to Chinese tech industry

Assuming it is properly designed, it is unilateral, and the actual implementation appears to be about two weeks old.

Will it be effective, and is it in time?

Yes. You can see those chess moves.

FDR wanted to help the Soviets.
So FDR wanted to go to war against Germany.
But Germany was too smart to cause trouble with us.
So FDR decided he wanted war with Japan.
So FDR did his best to trash the Japanese economy.
So Japan attacked us.
So Germany had to also declare war to help their ally.
So FDR declared war against Germany.
And FDR sent supplies to Stalin.

Now look at the very twisted situation with Putin, Ukraine, NATO, Poland, Germany, Food, Fuel, and Biden financial corruption, China and Taiwan.

It’s that sort of twisted spaghetti that leads to global wars. You know that some people want that very badly. They’ve been setting up the dominoes. And ... here ... we ... go.

30 days? Watch carefully. Bidum is going nuts having to re-do some of the Trump stuff he cancelled. Title 42 on the border: coming back. Tough on China: coming back. Begging for help with immigrants: starting up. And don’t be surprised if someone starts a pipeline in the next couple weeks?

You know what they say about when something seems too good to be true. To me, it means you need to look at the “something” from different angles.

This is how Xi might see things:

I know that our (China’s) domestic chip technology must catch up at maximum possible speed otherwise we will be perpetually at risk from foreign political pressures and supply disruptions. Because of how human beings are wired, the only realistic way to get it done quickly enough is to make it an emergency of immediate necessity. That means stopping the supply of certain foreign chips, even if only temporarily, to create the emergency and force the issue to the forefront.

My problem is if I cut off the supply of foreign chips I will be blamed for everything and people will not want to hear that it is ‘good for them in the long run’. But if my puppet Biden does it, it’s actually good for both him and me. It makes him look stronger in the US when he desperately needs to just prior to mid-terms elections. It gets me off the hook and gives my people one more reason to hate the “other”, the corollary of which is more love for ME.

-------------------------------------------

Regardless of the actual inner machinations, the #1 reason to be cynical and suspicious of this move is the TIMING.

I'd like to back Biden's play here, but I tend to agree with
the Obama Biden rule.

Never underestimate Joe's ability to screw things up.
