A former Russian president and key ally to President Vladimir Putin warned Israel against sending weapons to Ukraine.
Dmitry Medvedev, currently deputy chairman of the Security Council of Russia, on Monday said that Israel would destroy its relations with Russia if it sent weapons to Ukraine.
...
On Sunday, an Israeli minister called for Jerusalem to send military aid to Ukraine, though there has been no official statement from Israel about sending military aid.

I believe it would be a mistake
I agree.
“I don’t see why Israel has a bone in the Ukraine issue.”
Perhaps because Iran has thrown in its lot with Russia and is arming Russia and working on getting a nuke, with Russian encouragement.
And Israel is Iran’s most hated enemy.
“Russia only real enemies are China and Muslim hordes.”
I’ve been following a couple of Russian YouTubers some of whom have recently fled from Russia this month. They think what frightens Putin is having governments on his border that are elected and not autocrats. That’s his number one concern. The next is he’s paranoid, a holdover from the Soviet times when some of them truly believed the West wanted to overrun Russia like the Nazis. A third issue is his power was getting diffused among a lot of others and the war allowed him to bring it all back under his own thumb. Notice he’s also killing the former power brokers about one every three weeks. He’s giving their power and money to people he thinks will be more useful to him.
Well, duh.
And a happy Shemini Atzeret to you too!
They only removed the old S300 systems - the S400s are still in place. No Biggy.
Always was extremely impressed when terrorists committed suicide with two bullet holes to the head...
If Russia can’t beat Ukraine, they can’t beat Israel.
If Russia can’t beat Ukraine, they can’t beat Israel.
Zelensky is Jewish.
And just like Russia thinks it is the protector of every Russian everywhere so Israel thinks it is the protector of all Jews everywhere.
Mossad would not kill Putin. That’s a job for Shin Bet.
Russia isn’t fighting Israel and vice versa.
That is extremely contrived, how would Russia winning or losing in Ukraine effect Iran?
Wouldn’t angering Russia, make that nation more likely to give nuclear aid to Iran?
Zelensky can flee to Israel and leave Ukraine, I don’t see what would contrive the nation of Israel to support Ukraine.
“That is extremely contrived, how would Russia winning or losing in Ukraine effect Iran? Wouldn’t angering Russia, make that nation more likely to give nuclear aid to Iran?”
That’s just it: Russia IS giving nuclear aid to Iran. Just not in the form of actually transferring nukes to Iran.
Russia and China and Iran are openly talking about a Triple Alliance to confront the West. Israel is seen as part of “the West.”
Iran is an existential threat to Israel (especially if it gets a nuke), as it is on record saying that the Jewish state must be destroyed.
Iran already has enough enriched uranium for at least one explosive device (per recent reports). Russia is allegedly a “broker” or “mediator” between Iran and the West re: its nuclear program. There is good indication Russia is actually encouraging Iran’s nuclear program, not acting as an honest broker.
Iran has been providing Russia with drones for prosecuting its war against Ukraine.
Ergo, Israel sees the Russia-Iran relationship as potentially having a catastrophic impact on Israel and its security (think: Iran is on the cusp of developing a nuclear weapon, with Russian acquiescence; and Israel knows Russia could — if it wanted to — delay if not halt that development).
It’s not a great leap to the conclusion I drew, whether you think it is “contrived” or not.
Russians slaughtering Jews (pogroms) are nothing new. I can appreciate lots of Israelis who fled Russian oppression harboring ill will towards their former oppressors.
I don’t think they’d kill Putin so much as help others do things. That’s a bit too high profile.
What they would do is blow up infrastructure, break computer systems, radar, banks, etc. Sow chaos.
Soft, but high value, targets.
Israel can decouple from the West, and if they wanted, ally with Russia, then the situation becomes far more advantageous for Israel?
Should Israel get more involved into Ukraine? Would they not be perceived to be an enemy of Russia and thus engender great animosity from a much closer nuclear power?
