Tenants and advocates across the country are begging the federal government to implement a permanent rental assistance program and permanent eviction protections.

If you are a small time landlord, get out now before the feral gov’t. takes your property.
NO!
Why would anybody want a rental house then.
Wa Wa Wa... and I want a pony!! No, need a spare. Make that

“We have friends in Cali. A family with children. Always the dad or mom stays home on family vacations and any other outing. Home is never left without one of them there for fear of squatters. In Santa Rosa. “
I cannot imagine being in fear someone can just move into your home. Who chooses to live in a place like that.
Most of my clients, who were small landlords, decided to get out of the rental game.
Can't imagine why.
Enjoy dealing with Big Rental.
National eviction protect I don’t believe would be legal as rent has nothing to do with interstate commerce, ergo its a states right issue. This would ultimately massively hurt renters if something like this went into play at any rate. Would simply reduce availability and increase costs.
LOL - just succumb to the socialist religion that anyone who has accummulated any type of wealth is inherently evil and owes their success to less able people. I think the snake in the garden had the same idea.
They never seem to have enough free money. Now they feel their landlord should also be assisting them.
Instead, the government should provide seminars on self-reliance.
They already get federal Section 8 housing assistance. So this is a red herring. And it’s already almost impossible to evict them with the judges we have, if you’re a mom & pop landlord. What are they really after?

Mark my words.
Of course they do

Will the FedGov give money to said firms that rent to low income households?
A foolish question I know, but what part of the Constitution authorizes Congress and the Federal government to have any role in ‘rental assistance’ and ‘eviction protections’?
I was imprecise when referring to rental “properties”.
I am speaking primarily about apartments, which would theoretically in most cases be more affordable than rental “properties” which usually refers to houses or condos for rent.
If the ability to make money on apartments for rent is reduced by government regulation, fewer apartments are going to be offered for rent.
Not a surprise at all.
Muricans gave up their constitutional rights in 2020 under covid with lockdowns, mandates and discretionary rent payments for nearly 2 years. And to think there was hardly a national whimper. Canadians exhibited more balls than their neighbors in the land of the free and the home of the brave.
>>rent has nothing to do with interstate commerce, ergo its a states right issue
Yes, but people need an address to engage in interstate commerce, hence the federal government can do what it wants, per previous SCOTUS rulings. Wish it were not so, but ...
