Let’s be honest here: The West claims of defeating Nazism doesn’t pass any test of the facts.

The US and NATO provided enough anti-drone air defense systems with training and spares to protect the Ukrainian military. As a result, Russia (and their Iranian allies) turned to virtually undefended civilian targets.

For all the suffering that the drone attacks impose on Ukraine's civilians, it is a losing move for Russia. The attacks do not relieve pressure on Russia's front lines, but they harden Ukraine's determination to win and further blacken Russia's international reputation.

In the coming months, US and NATO air defense systems will arrive in larger numbers and be installed so as to defend Ukraine's cities and civilian infrastructure. What then?

Unable to win on the battlefield, Russian authorities seem willing to expand the daft and take other increasingly desperate measures. How much longer will Russians accept the economic and human losses and the decline of their country due to Putin's foolish and losing war?

Perhaps long enough for the Russian military to collapse and the Russian federation to break up into its constituent parts. China and the Muslims will then feast on as much as they can grab.

I am confident though that Putin and the siloviki are hedging their bets and preparing for the worst, with escape plans and assets safely abroad for themselves and their families. Will Switzerland or Cyprus be their preferred refuge?

Of course, Putin and his lickspittle followers will still blame NATO, the US, and the West for all the ills that befall Russia. Some things never change.

Funny how the vaunted Russian air force is so desperate as to be proudly relying on Iranian made “toy airplanes” to attack civilian targets in Ukraine. Experts attribute that to a combination of a lack of combat worthy aircraft, a lack of experienced pilots, and fear of Ukrainian air defenses. Meanwhile, Russian civilians living near Russian air force bases have to fear flaming Sukhois on training missions falling from the sky onto their heads and homes.
