The subpoena should only be valid for the current Congress. I suspect the news of it is all they really want, perhaps some play out of a refusal to appear. But if this is the last session, where is he supposed to appear?
I'm sure it would go to court, but it wouldn't be heard until after the mid-terms and Trump's base would be energized by the defiance.

I imagine that most liberals will think that getting a subpoena is the same thing as being arrested. Probably even equate it to a conviction.

There is ZERO doubt in my mind, Trump will accept immediately, and they will withdraw just as fast.
I didn’t think about that. Congress has no authority to subpoena a President for anything that occurred during his presidency.
Impeachment is the House’s recourse against a sitting President (or even after he’s left office, I guess). They tried and failed to convict him. Subpoenaing him to a committee is a clear violation of the Separation of Powers.
A court should quickly throw this out if it follows the Constitution.
Exactly. They want to own the news cycle. CPI report was horrendous today. It’s no coincidence that the last hearing is today. Releases for inflation indicator are known way in advance.

They’re probably hoping that he will claim executive privilege again, and then they will be able to raid him and haul him out in cuffs in the middle of the night while his privilege claim is still working its way through the courts.
He should go, he will tear them apart. They (The Unselect Committee) will be in the corners hiding their tails between their legs after they are completely and utterly destroyed by President TRUMP.
