Ukraine's Zelenskyy to address West at emergency G7 meeting following wave of missile attacks

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will appeal to Western nations at an emergency G7 meeting on Tuesday.

Ukraine and Germany called the meeting following a wave of devastating missile attacks on Kyiv, Liviv and more than a dozen other major cities. Russian President Vladimir Putin said the attacks are revenge for the bombing of the Kerch Bridge connecting Russia and Crimea this weekend.

"They are trying to destroy us and wipe us off the face of the earth. Completely. Destroy our people who are sleeping at home in Zaporizhzhia. Kill people on their way to work in Dnipro and Kyiv," Zelenskyy said in a video address Monday.

Russian Security Council deputy head Dmitry Medvedev warned that the attacks will continue until Russia has achieved the "complete dismantling" of Ukraine's "political regime."

Russia sent 84 incoming missiles. Only 11 people were killed. That’s a weekend toll in Chicago. Perhaps the G7 should send ‘mo money to Chicago. I’ll take my chances surviving in Kiev than in Chicago.

From what I read the attack was measured in the dozens of missiles. The Ukrainians and G7 scream bloody murder. As I type of the number of killed in Kiev is in the tens. From the bloody shirt rhetoric, one would think Russia sent every bomber available to carpet bomb Kiev.

My opinion is that Putin did not want and does not want to take out Ukranian infrastructure or huge numbers of Ukrainians. Seems like his objective was to take back land populated by ethnic Russians. The reasons why are up for debate.
