MADRID (AP) — Former U.S. President Donald Trump threw his weight behind Spain’s far-right Sunday in a video shown at a rally in Madrid that also featured messages by the leading stars of Europe’s populist right like Italy’s Giorgia Meloni and Hungary’s Viktor Orban.
In a recording that lasted under 40 seconds made while Trump was on a plane, Trump thanked Spain’s far-right Vox party and its leader Santiago Abascal for what he called the “great job” they do.
“We have to make sure that we protect our borders and do lots of very good conservative things,” Trump said. “Spain is a great country and we want to keep it a great country. So congratulations to Vox for so many great messages you get out to the people of Spain and the people of the world.”

It’s an Associated Press offering so you can count on that term being used often.
With AP anything even minutely to the right of center is considered “far right”, anything to the left of center regardless of how far including Communists are termed “moderates”.
The “far right” is anyone who opposes communist totalitarianism.

Believe that the the Constitution, including the Bill of Rights, means what it says?
That abortion kills a baby?
That there are only 2 genders?

That children should not be indoctrinated with communism and racism, in school?
That our borders should be secure and only US citizens should be allowed reside here, work and to vote, once?
That violent criminals should be imprisoned and law abiding citizens should be safe in their homes and daily activities?
That no one, not the government nor private corporation should be able to force you to take a dangerous, experimental medical procedure?
Then you are a dangerous”extremist” and a “threat to democracy”.
Any time it’s NOT their preferred leftism, it’s “far right”. And they use it in every relevant sentence.
The communists hijacked the label from the actual Progressives of 100 plus years ago and have been calling themselves progressives since forever. It’s the most abused descriptor in American politics.
Odds are that Vox enters government a year from now (Dec 2023) in coalition with the Partido Popular (PP), which is the traditional Spanish “right”. The PP is equivalent to the US Republicans. In Euro terms you could call them Christian Democrats.

Three foreign video feeds at a Spanish political event don’t constitute a global far right rally?
Every story covering this has the same headline, so apparently that’s the way AP sent it out and no local editor saw fit to steer a course back to reality.
