that threatens to cut off annexed peninsula from Putin's reinforcements A huge explosion has hit the only bridge between Crimea and Russia, a crucial supply line for Putin's forces Footage shows the blast following the rail bridge engulfed in flames and the road bridge next to it collapsed
The cause of the explosion is not known but Ukraine has been targeting Russian logistics in recent weeks Footage appears to show a truck exploding on the road section of the bridge as sabotage is suspected
A crucial bridge linking Russia and Ukraine has caught fire in a spectacular explosion in a suspected attack by Ukraine as the country cuts of supplies to Russian forces.
A train carrying fuel erupted in flames on the crossing, built by Vladimir Putin as a key link to the territory he invaded in 2014.
The only bridge between Crimea and the Russian mainland has been vital to the Russian military for supplying Putin's war in Ukraine.
Ukraine has previously threatened to target the bridge and has been damaging Russian logistics in recent weeks.
Footage of the incident appear to show a truck exploding on the road section of the bridge as it drives towards Kerch in Crimea.
It was unclear if this may have been a suicide bomb in a truck but there have been no reports of incoming missiles. Some witnesses claimed there were two explosions .
A voice on one video is heard saying: 'It seems to me there were two explosions, no? -- If it was a missile, it would hit the second [rail] bridge too in any case.'
There were suggestions Putin may address the nation on the bridge explosion amid fears he will unleash havoc on Ukraine.
He has already hinted he could use nuclear weapons in the war with Ukraine.

Your analysis of the four groups of Putin/Russian supporters (aka “useful idiots”) is on exactly on target.
Just remember that when you are over the target is when you will be taking the most flak. So prepare for a lot of incoming from the useful idiots.
I will say this in response. Your fifth group is real, but I think it would fall within my first group. Blind hatred of Biden.
Your sixth group is understandable, but I think these people largely fall into the pox upon both houses crowd. I don’t think many actually cheer for a Russian victory, although perhaps some do as you say, as the bitter pill to swallow to save the entire body.
Farming tractors running on diesel... This is what makes the world go ‘round.... Been there, done that in a small way. In the stix.
Recently an article was posted at FR about a former St. Petersburg Troll Farm worker who told all. It appears a number of pro Putin/Russia posters at FR actually may be employees of just such a troll farm. Often it appears there are 3 or more of such trolls at a specific post doing just the kinds of things reported by the retired troll farm employee. It appears several of them post anti Ukraine or pro Putin/Russia articles on a regular basis.
You know more than me.... !
Another Victory for Hero Ukraine and her American CIA Friends! Only the first of many to come. Ukraine needs no bridge to Orkland Russia! Crimea will fall within the week. Even with the new conscript army Putin’s inept army is powerless to stop the March of the heroic Ukraine People! President Zelenskyy is a military genius as able as Napoleon and Washington. His March has turned the tide on Putin and his clown army of brutal baboons. The war is won! Watch as more cities fall and the so called new states of “Mother Russia” fall quickly. By Christmas Putin will be out of office and dead and Not one Russian Ork left in sacred Ukraine.
Se my comment #184 for another more dangerous explanation for pro Putin/Russia comments here.
Hate to tell you but there are a few paid FRussian or whatever paid trolls here. Maybe 1-3 like that idiot norseman
U get an educated moron rating. Yr satire sucks.
I did reference paid operatives. They’re out there.
It’s now President Zelenskyyy.
The troll farms predate the invasions. My wife says that on Russian social media sites like the popular Classmates site, the pro-Putin spin machine is going strong 24/7. During the last two years they have really ginned up all the hate America rhetoric.
Yeah, then there’s the group that knows the history of that area of the world and knows that the Crimea belongs with Russia. Bombing their bridges isn’t likely to win them over.
Even if that were so, one is hard pressed to justify Russian aggression to take it back, given that Russia guaranteed Ukraine’s borders. I guess Russia just can’t be trusted.
Most people in the Crimea are ethnically Russian and have been part of Russia for 8 years now. They don’t want to be dragged back into the Ukraine, only to be ruled over by people who now hate them because of this war, that would be a disaster.
For how many years, had the then USSR, shipped Russian nationals into industrial/ mineral rich (Donbass) or strategic (Crimea) parts of Ukraine to control them while leaving the merely agricultural parts to the Soviet perceived local yokels. Who were thought weak enough to starve out, again, if push came to shove.
Now the ‘yokels’ are pissed, no longer weak and taking it and consider the Soviet imposed demographics in Crimea and Donbass as much grand theft as we do Biden’s border policies. If those ‘Russians’ therein still prefer the culture which shipped their parents or grandparents there let them return. Putinville needs bodies and babies. Especially ethnically Russian ones. They’ll be happy there. Ukes will let them, but not with their generational loot. Let Russia annex back truly willing people, but not the land on which they’ve been squatting. Boot Putin, build a free, honest Russocentric culture. Replace years of hate and conquest with fair trade and common interests and they might have something in a couple generations.
So, you’re sitting at your laptop, controlling a submersible drone, watching the cameras trying to decide when to launch your whatever it is.
Can you time your launch so as to coincide with the passage of a train? Probably.
Can you time it so as to coincide with the passage of a tanker car carrying something flammable? As opposed to a flatbed, a boxcar, or a tanker carrying something that isn’t flammable?
Unlikely.
And here’s another thing. If the explosion set the train alight, why are the cars immediately opposite the explosion?
If the train was moving when it caught fire, you’d expect it to have moved half-a-mile or more before it could be stopped.
Was the train stationary at the time of the explosion?
The more I look at this, the less certain I am of what happened.

Ethnic Russians are a majority in Crimea, because Russians have ethnically cleansed the Turkish Crimean Tatars since the 1780’s. Stalin sent many to Siberia in the 1930’s.
