Sen. Chuck Grassley (Iowa), the most senior member of the Senate GOP conference, says he would vote against a national 15-week abortion ban sponsored by Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) that has caused a political headache for fellow Republicans.

“I would vote ‘no,’” Grassley said at a televised debate Thursday night with his Democratic election opponent, Mike Franken.

Pulling off with forceps a human’s arm and legs that can feel pain is evil on steroids.

Every Republican will now be asked their opinion about Graham’s disruptive proposal. DC Republicans seem to love making a win (overturn Roe v Wade) into a loss.

Same with Scott’s proposal to vote every five years on keeping Social Security. He may have a point but right before an election is not the time to propose it . Dems will campaign once again by saying that Republicans want to take away your Social Security. They will quote Scott…. Perhaps misquoting him.

"The Iowa Republican, however, now says abortion is an issue that should be handled at the state level after the Supreme Court earlier this year struck down the constitutional right to an abortion in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization..."

He right on this.

That bill would be a more liberal abortion law than France’s. Does Grassley think France is too right wing?

Don’t know. It gives the ‘RATS a “scary” talking point. But I’m damned sure that was Linda’s backstabbing INTENTION.

I don’t think it was any scarier than the talking points they already had.

So you were saying now that Republicans have to do exactly what the Democrats say and can’t pass any conservative legislation because it might help democrats? It’s some kind of paradox so Democrats can get their legislation but Republicans have to do what Democrats want?

Sorry, it’s not the time for intramural bickering. How much has the price of gasoline gone up in your area recently?

They aren’t passing anything, just so we’re clear. They are just making the election about it. There is no bill on the floor. They’re isn’t going to be one (repeal and replace Obama care). This is just a way to make the debate about abortion and not about inflation so that thr Rats can win and pass an abortion law. You have to know how to play your cards...and when to play them.

Oh for heaven’s sake, the Supremes just overturned Roe v. Wade to turn it back to the States where it always should have resided, and there’s good old Lindsay, shafting his party by handing a major issue to the Dems by introducing a centralized gov’t abortion bill after abortion law was just turned back to the states.

Graham intentionally did it to sabotage his own party and to put the spotlight onto himself, just like his mentor John McCain did with great regularity. Graham is a jack*ss and his actions here were unconscionable, doing it right before the Mid-Term elections when it would do maximum harm to the Pubs. He disgusts me.

Must not be getting the attention he seeks from Trump of late, who has replaced in Lindsay’s mind the dead strongman McCain that Graham doted on. Trump not paying enough, if any at all, attention to him of late. So he acts out.

It’s possible that Graham introduced the bill that has no chance of passing in the current Congress, to sabotage Republicans, because he prefers Democrats to MAGA republicans.
