Nobody saw me, you can’t prove it, and the statute of limitations has long since expired.

You left off insidious. HF is a bone seeker, it loves calcium so much so that the steals calcium from the nerves, so you don't even feel a burn until it gets to the bones. Then with all that extra calcium you REALLY feel it!

People have died from a burn no bigger that the palm of a hand.

The heart doesn't beat very well when the nerves are calcium depleted.

(s) nully who got a good lungful or two of the fumes from a 1:1:1 mix of HF:Nitric:Ascetic.

Still wondering how many EV owners with buyer’s remorse scuttled theirs on purpose...

Lithium batteries are a double-edged sword. Great boon to EVs when they work, but a real safety hazard when they don't.

One of the gases emitted by a lithium battery fire is hydrogen fluoride. (HF) Hydrogen fluoride is highly corrosive and a powerful contact poison. Exposure requires immediate medical attention. It can cause blindness by rapid destruction of the corneas. Breathing in hydrogen fluoride at high levels or in combination with skin contact can cause death...

But, but, but - we're saving 'motha Earf'... isn't that worth a few fires and dead citizens? It's not like the 'elites' children are firemen and women.

"It’s hard to believe that we will all be forced into these things in five to ten years."

Just wait 'til cities and municipalities are forced to buy all-electric fire trucks to respond to these infernos.

Another thing about HF is that it kills your nerve cells as it’s burning it’s into your skin, so you can feel it.

I had a hole in my glove when I was using it once and got a small burn on the end of my thumb. The treatment is debridement, i.e. cut off the dead, white tissue.

Then the fire trucks will get wet from pumping water and catch on fire.

How toxic are the fumes…?

Short answer: Extremely toxic and corrosive.

Longer answer:

Lithium compounds naturally occur in seawater at ranges from 0.14 to 0.25 parts per million (ppm) and on land at concentrations from 20 to 70 ppm.

Lithium compounds appear in trace quantities (less than 10 ppm) in almost all living creatures. Conversely it becomes toxic in almost all living creatures at 20 ppm and 100% lethal at 50 ppm. Debate continues as to whether Lithium is essential to or merely beneficial for life.

Medically, Lithium salts, primarily Lithium Carbonate, are important medicines for the treatment of psychiatric disorders. The normal dose is a 300 milligram (mg) tablet, and the maximum daily dose is 1800 mg. As there is some overlap in the therapeutic dose range and the toxic dose range, frequent monitoring of serum concentrations of Lithium are required for those being treated with it.

As the lightest and most chemically reactive of the alkali metals most of its compounds, organic and inorganic, are corrosive and biologically active.

Lithium ion batteries require a large, dense, concentration of Lithium. When they burn or corrode, they release a locally intense concentration of toxic and corrosive compounds far beyond anything found naturally, thus requiring sophisticated fire fighting resources and HAZMAT production.

If you live in a condo complex w no EV charging stations. If you must go to public charging stations... I am sure you are paying as much as ICE owners per mile you travel in yer EV.

I remember seeing an article awhile back were a couple of EV owners wanted a condo association(CA) to upgrade their parking spots to accommodate charging their EV's. The CA told them to get lost.

#40 hydrogen fluoride.... So any car accident will be a hazmat area stopping all traffic till the fire burns itself out and a clean up is completed in many hours or days.
The burned out car will then need to be placed in a non populated area away from water so the contamination is contained. Times this by millions of accidents.

Very expensive. Limited range. Slow to charge up. Hazard to life and property. Electricity rates skyrocketing to subsidized this. Insurance denied or very expensive.
Sounds like a great technology.

ICE vehicles get recalled for minor faults.

Thanks to a fascistic relationship with EV manufacturers, government protects a product that spontaneously combusts.
